Converting from xp to windows 7

You can, but thorough backup of all your XP stuff is needed first, as you will lose much of it. Here is the detailed MS guide

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-xp-to-windows-7#T1=tab01

Unless you have a genuine copy of W7 already, I'd recommend going to W8.1 , as it has now stabilised and will be supported for much longer than W7. However your hardware would need to be good enough. From XP there is no automated way to check this, instead

Is my old Lexmark x5470 compatible with MS Office Professional 2007?

MS Office is only bundled set of Office applications software eg. Winword, Excel, etc.......It had nothing to do with the compatibility isuses with any devices like printers, fax or scanmner, etc....

Compatibility isuses are with the Operating Systems (OS) eg.XP,Vista, Win 7 ... on your PCs. Different OS require different versions of Devices "Drivers & software" . If you can successfully install your device Drivers & software for the AIO "Lexmark x5470" on your PC Operating System, you should be able to print, scan or fax from MS Office applications.

Hope it helps.

Do you have a driver that will link my 1248UB to WINDOWS 7

You can use the vista drivers but must tell it the you want to continue to use these drivers when the warning box comes up.

They are available here.

http://www.mustek.com.tw/Support/

Windows 7 also allows the use of XP drivers too with the same warning. However win 7 may appear to fail the installation and then offer to install using reccomended settings. if it does choose that option.

I have managed to get some pretty old hardware working fine with windows 7 using either XP or vista drivers.

Software on the other hand can on occasion be a little harder to get running if it is old and I have had to resort to using the built in functions of either win 7 or MS office to achieve scans or printer setup's on older hardware

I need a driver for a 1350W to run in Windows 7 (64). I'm thinking maybe a Vista 64-bit might work? My brand new 8 Gig Elite is without working printers!

I have this printer in the attic coz of vista. konica minolta did not bother to create a driver for VISTA. I brought out the 1350w not that i got win 7. still no driver.... i have a feeling there wont be a 1350w driver for win 7. however they have 1400w drivers for vista/7.

the only way you can print with the 1350W is as a remote printer in win virtual pc running xp.
