If you Nokia 5800's memory card is not working.
It simply means there is a problem or two,
1. the phone might not be reading the memory card,
2, the memory card might be faulty.
test to know if it is the phone,
- insert the same memory card into another phone to see if the phone will read it.
- insert another tested okay memory card into the phone to see if it will work.
- if it does not,then the fault is from the phone,
to fix this,
- get the appropriate screwdriver,
- open the phone,
- carefully open the memory card slot,
- clean it properly with naphthalene and dry it under the heat of a bulb,
- or you can replace the memory card slot completely,
- insert the memory card and turn it on to see if it will read it.
- before you couple it back together.
To test if it is the memory card
- insert the memory card into another phone to see if it will do the read it, if it does not, then the fault is from the memory card.
to fix this
all you have to do is to change the memory card.
