Blank screen We've only had our tv for almost 2 years and while we're watching tv, the screen fades to white and eventually goes blank. We can still hear the audio but it takes about a half an hour for the picture to come back in, and then it's fine until we turn it off again. Is there anything we can do?

Vizio tv will be fine then fade to white screen

A blank white screen on the TV sometimes will show up when the TV enters into Screen saver or Daydream. Screen saver or Daydream is turned ON by default here . However, if the clock on the TV does not match that of the Internet server the TV is unable to obtain pictures from the server and a white screen is shown instead.

Bush LCD26'' Tv, picture fades, flickers & goes blank

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.

It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Tv goes blank

The effect you described sounds a lot like a failed solder joint.

There are points on the circuit board that are subjected to heating and cooling each time the set is powered up, then down.
The solder joints near these areas can fail from metal fatigue as will any metal that is forced to expand and contract repeatedly.
These fractures are minute and can often only be seen under magnification.
Once found, they are simple to fix; removal of the old solder and resoldering will restore electrical contact in seconds.

If you can find a gray-haired tech nearby who is retired, maybe early since repair is a business stagnated by cheap labor in Asia, he/she will know where these areas are and can robably get rid of your lottery-like operation.
Or, if you have way too much time on your hands and are willing to buy a decent soldering iron and dig into the guts of your set, you can probably find the problem yourself.

While semiconductors do fail (sometimes for the same reason), since the set does sometimes restore itself, it isn't likely that any of those has died.

I would be torn to toss the set if it is otherwise OK for the simple reason that if repaired, it may outlast 80% of those bought in the last 2 years.
It is amazing the number of problems that are happening on new, sophisticated sets and it is traceable to lousy quality in parts and assembly.
I have one LCD set I will probably junk this year that is only 2 years old, flawed when I bought it new, and has a failure producing a vertical black stripe that would require replacment of the $4-500 panel.
Junk - Specifically, WALMART junk.

SMT 5600 does not load OS, screen goes white and then blank.

Screen sound bad, or intermittent connection inside. You can find disassembly instructions on the net. Search with phone model and disassemble. Remove and reattach all cables in case one is lose or contact dirty.
