To plug the dock into the receiver to supply power and interface with the iPod you would have to have one with a built in iPod. Most receivers will not do that, the most common way to connect an iPod to a receiver is using a 3.5mm to RCA cable. You don't even need the dock to do this, you can plug the iPod directly in. You can find this cable at most electronics shops if you don't want to buy online, like Best Buy or Radioshack.
Make sure you connect the white and the red end of the RCA cable to the correct sockets on your receiver, and the small 3.5mm jack into the iPod or the iPod dock, you have to turn the iPod volume up and select the corresponding input on your receiver. If you plugged the 2 RCA jacks (white & red) into the socket labeled "AUX" or "Video 1" you have to select "AUX" or "Video 1" in order to hear the sound.

I lost my remote to my harmon kardon DPR 1001 stereo is their an remote controle app i can download on my phone to controle stereo

No, phones don't have an infra-red transmitter. That would only work if the HK was connected to wifi and HK made an app and the internal circuity and logic to accept it.

Contact HK direct and buy a new remote.

I purchased a Denon I Dock ASD-11R and a Denon Receiver AVR 2311CI. The iDock says it is compatible with the Gen IV ITouch. The dock is compaible with a gen III ITouch - worked fine. I plugged in a Gen...

I too purchased the DenonASD11R Ipod dock to connect to my Denon AVR2311 Receiver, and I too experienced the same problem. I think it might be software compatiabilty issues between Ipod Gen 4, the Dock and Receiver. Some other Denon Ipod Docks are not compatiable with Ipod Touch 4. I returned my Dock and received full refund, and will be waiting for Denon to bring out another Ipod Dock which will work with Ipod Gen 4

Ipod to harman/kardon

Using a headphone to RCA adaptor plug the headphone jack into the headphone connector of the Ipod. Then plug the RCA jacks into any available Analogue input on the receiver. Increase the volume on the Ipod to 80% then adjust the receiver's volume according.

Or get a dock that will allow remote control and charging, such as Roth, DLO or Wadia.

Denon ASD-3w ipod dock not being recognized by denon 3808

I successfully connected the ASD-3W to the Denon 3808CI using the supplied AV/Control cables (dock control, L & R audio, S-video). I used the video and audio input connectors marked VCR (iPod) on the 3808CI and used the default settings. I used the connector marked Dock Control for the control cable. These VCR (iPod) connectors are different than the input connectors marked VCR. I turned the source selector to VCR/iPod Stereo and operated the GUI using the ASD-3W remote control. I was able to play music and video.

Operating my ipod docking station

Absolutely!
Keyword(Read the instruction and follow it step-by-step.) Well,if you do,you wouldn't be asking for help, cause you want a 50+ pages Denon manual instruction to be concise to few paragraphs so you could move on with your life-:o)
Okay.only this time!
Denon ipod docking station comes with a power plug and a set of cable which you need to connect behind the Denon AVR-2807 receiver which is under an INPUT LABEL for IPOD only(not going to give it away, you will find it!)
Now,of course you could use HDMI......but,the quickest way to view your video(on screen menu) will be using a composite(RCA) video cable to connect from the Video output(yellow color) from the receiver to the TV composite video input.Turn on your IPOD,and you are ready to see the on screen manual.
Hey,this is just a lazy way to start you off if tomorrow night you have a date;otherwise, set it up properly by using the instruction!
Cheers,

Denon receiver (DRA 397) will not speak to iPod dock

IF YOUR NOT USING A DENON IPOD DOCKING STATION IT WILL NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY.
YOU CAN CONNCET OTHER TYPES OF IPOD DOCKING STATIONS BUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE CONTROL THROUGH THE DENON AND ONLY CONNECT THE AUDIO FOR THAT DOCKING STATION TO THE DENON AS ANOTHER SOURCE INPUT

Harman Kardon Go + Play Portable Speaker Keeps Shutting Off

I just had this exact problem. I'm using an ipod mini. I solved it by docking the ipod firmly at the angle
the dock is at and have the ipod at an angle, not flat. I put the plastic and rubber adapter for the mini as instructed and also placed the rubber adapter for the nano upside down to keep
the ipod propped at an angle. (Also can use something similar to keep ipod propped up at an angle)
Took a while when I first used to figure out how the dock worked. The dock is a little weird how it is hinged to go from an angle to flat. Nothing in the instructions about this. By putting the ipod flat it would still have a connection to charge and play but the power shuts off every 10 minutes. I spent a whole night having it shut off every 10 minutes. This drives me crazy when systems have features like that which always seems to cause more problems (just my humble opinion)
By having the ipod at an angle I'm currently just now having it run an hour and 20 minutes and counting with no shut offs,(fingers crossed) but so far so good.
Saw on the internet that if the ipod is not connected firmly the system has an auto shut down. I think the ipod's weight propped at an angle keeps the connection firm. Also some said they want to see the ipod display, there you go!!!! This seems to be working so far for me, may be worth a try...I was about to return mine but I love the sound so I'm keeping mine now!!!! Works fine. Happy camper again.
Please reply if this works for anyone it worked for me.
