Help! I converted my Baby's Dream Generation Next bed into a full sized bed and a full sized mattress doesn't fit. The bed is only 51 10/16" wide. I need a mattress and boxspring for this. All of the full sized mattresses I found are 53 or 54 inches wide.

I'd get rid of the thing. there are new standards for baby cribs for 2011. Also, if the thing is over 8yrs. old, its probably too old and the mattress is full of dirt and whatever. Consumer Reports is a great resource to find what your baby needs. Sales can't tell you if one is recommended because doing it is illegal and they will get sued by the Consumers Union, the nonprofit that puts out the magazine. If your 8yr. old can accidentally open it just doing that the baby may do it just by turning over. Throw it in the trash or send it to recycling. Rock-a-bye healthy baby.
Melynie, You will need to contact Baby's Dream directly. They are the manufacturer of your crib. Our company does not carry any wooden parts. However, you can always check out our website at www.productsamerica.com.
It says in the description that it is 4-in-1 sleep system. It can be converted into a traditional bed, a day bed and a full-sized bed. It does need a full size mattress once you convert it.
As lots of cribs-stage from Storkcraft, your bed instructions are permanently attached on the board, below the mattress. And for the almost beds, the mattress frame has to be purchased separately, to convert it to a full size bed.
The directions are on the platform that supports the matttress I believe it's number 7 on how to convert to a full size. You have to buy a frame for a full size bed and of course the mattress and box spring. I hope this helps
