Changed Claris Filter-now says "fill system/press steam"

I have changed the Claris Filter many times before. This time the machine is stuck at "Fill System/Press Steam." The water tank is full. Each time I try pressing the steam button the system says "Please Wait." It makes at lot of the usual noises and then returns to "Fill System/Press Steam." Not a single drop of water has come out of the steam nozzle during this process.

I have had an S9 for 8 years now and have had it refirbished twice in its lifetime. I am convinced that the Claris Water filters cause this problem in that they can creat to much resistance or air and the system becomes water starved.Try taking out the filter and running steam for a couple of minutes. If you see water coming through, you most likely have a bad filter. moving forward, i am leaving the filter ourt and running the system in the DeCalc mode. I will have to decalcify the system routinely now but its worth eleviating the filter headache.

What if you left the Claris/Jura filter out of the machine and ran the tap water through a Britta filter? Do you or anyone else know the different is the Claris/Jura filter vs a Britta?

What ventelite mean

This can happen if there is not water in the system to prime it. If it has been out of use for a while, or if the water tank was low and you used most of the water for the last shot, steam, or hot water drink. With the machine off, fill the water tank, turn the machine on, and immediately, before heating up, run water out the steam wand. This will fill the system and clear the Ventilate message. Sometimes, if you use an aqua prima water filter, they can slow the water flow enough to trip the machine into sensing a lack of water. Be sure to change the filters on time.

Hi, our Jura Impressa Xs90 keeps flashing 'fill system' & ' press steam'. There is plenty of water in it, we've tried removing the water and refilling. Doesn't work. If you press steam it just beeps...

Have you run a decal recently? This normally happens when a small particle (normally) an undesolved piece of the decal tablet is stuck in the flow meter, or sensor.
You can try and run warm water through the system and after about half a tank it should be sorted out.

1. Where is the lever located in the Saeco Incanto De Luxe located? 2. How do you decalcify the same same product? Thank you for your help

Hello Dolls36,

I understand you have two questions the lever question I assume you are taking about the steam lever. The second question is how do you descale the unit.

Lets answer the first question first. The steam lever is not a lever but a knob. The knob is located on the right side of the unit.
1. Put container under steam tube turn knob downward to open until you get steam
2. Once you get steam turn knob upward to close
3. Put item you want to steam under steam tube and open valve back up to steam

Now to answer the question about how to descale the Incanto De Leluxe. When you are ready to descale the machine follow these steps.
1. Hold down the "x" button for 5 seconds, the machine will tell you it is ready to descale
2. Remove the filter
3. Fill the water tank with your descaling solution
4. Insert a container under the steam tube and open the steam valve
5. The machine will display descaling and finished
6. Then it will prompt you to fill tank with clean water for rinsing.
7. Press the "x" button once tank is full
8. Place container under steam tub and turn knob to open steam tube
9. When finished press "x" button one more time to confirm done
10. Replace water filter and fill tank

I hope that I have answer you question as for question 1 I assumed that is what you were asking about. However, if that was not the right question please post back to this tread and I will be more than happy to answer the question that you specify.

Thank you for choosing FixYa.com

The S9 has been unused for three months and I cannot get it to get water to the brewer. It keeps telling me to fill the water and press the steam button. No such luck. Is there a way to prime this machine?

Hello
This is a common problem and there`s usually only 1 thing you can try to do yourself. Use luke warm water in the watertank and repeat the fill system procedure 4-5 times. If this doesn`t help, try to shut down the machine and try the same after 30 minutes. If nothing happens after you tried this a few times, then theres a problem with the solenoid valve for steam, and this need to be changed. That`s something you need help from a technician for.

Incanto Cappacino I was descaling my automatic machine for the 1st time. It had already started when I realised that it was not on the right setting ie. was on steam setting. I stopped the machine and...

Hi,

Fill the water tank with water, open the steam knob and when the water comes out, take off the water tank and let the machine go to it stop.
Close the steam knob and put back the water tank.
Open the steam knob again to get out the air in the system.

Hope this will help you.

"Fill System/Press Steam"

Remove the tray at the front of the machine. Look inside and you will see a rubber flap which separates the right and left side of the machine. Gently lift this to the right and look inside to the left (a small mirror like from a womans compact and a flashlight will help you see in there.) You will find a small circular screen (about the size of a half dollar.)  You need to wipe ALL the coffee grinds off of this screen. That should fix the problem. If you use dark beans, you are probably grinding them to fine and some of the oily residue is sticking to this screen. Try grinding the dark beans more coarsely. Only change the grinder WHEN IT IS GRINDING by adjusting the litlle knob in the box where you place the beans. If the problem started just after changing the filter you may have air in the water line and it needs to be flushed. Try running the tea portion hot water until it clears. These suggestions were given to me by Capresso and actually worked for my machine. Good luck. Gary

Descaling

Remove the filter holder (portafilter).
The manual says to unscrew the nozzle from the filter holder coupling and wash with hot water.
Mix a liquid decalcifier with water in tank at a 1:1 ratio. DO NOT USE VINEGAR! It says to fill the water reservoir.
Run the cleaniing solution through the machine - pressing the coffee button, 1 cup at a time. During each interval let the decalcifier act for 10 or 15 minutes by turning off the machine by the main switch.
Carefully wash the tank and fill with fresh water and empty 2/3 of this by pressing the coffee button.
Now let the machine warm up and empty the rest of the reservoir by rotating the hot water/steam knob.
Screw the nozzle in the filter holder coupling again.
