Well i have a sony ericsson w850i and it wont turn on and when i plug it in to charge it it has this red light on the top on the on/off button it doesnt flash or anything it's just a still red light. Does this mean the phones broke? Completely flat? please help me!

Hi,
the phone might be completely flat. For you to test for that, you will need to leave it for about an hour or two to see if it will come on.

Then if it doesn't,that means the battery cell is too weak to power up the phone.

You will need replace battery.

Try a different battery, try a different charger. If non of those helps, the phone itself is most likely damaged.

W850i red light prob
not to worry this is a fixable problem..............take te phone to a mobile shop and have them reflash the firmware n custom pack back into the phone and this will correct the problem....the erom needs to be loaded back on the phone.

the EROM file on your phone is corrupted that is why it just flashes red and not boot-up, you need to have the EROM reflash for the phone to work again.

W850i water damage?
Hi Aky,
The best thing to do is to take the battery out leave it to dry and your phone do not try to charge the phone for a few days that should solve the problem. if not the water has gone into the liguid lcd screen.and the lcd screen need to be replace.

Helpppp with my w850i it wont turn on ??
This is generic software problem and it is caused by snaching out battery during on position generally. You have to reflash it with new version of software and u will get a good working phone again. If you find this helpful do not forget to vote me here
