Terk wireless transmitter

I have just bought the Terk Leapfrog wireless transmitter. Please bear in mind that I am not good with electronics and the like. What I wanted to do is to eliminate the cable stretched over my floor from the cable outlet to the TV. How does one connect the transmitter to the cable outlet? I can figure out the receiver end, I just don't know what to do at the transmitter end. Please help!

Hi Sleopard,

Wireless transmitters should allow broadcasts of a single source such as a VCR, DVD player, or cable boxes. They normally wouldn’t be able to transmit something like a cable signal to your television. One way this could work is if you connected a cable box right below your outlet and then connected the cable box to your transmitter. If your transmitter has a infrared extender you may be able to change channels by pointing your remote at the wireless receiver.

Cordially,

Unfortunately you need the transmitter. i would contact Polk and see if they sell this part separately or start scouring the internet. someone might have blown their sub but the transmitter would still work.

I have a Terk LF 30S and have it connected to a Dish Network 311 and is transmitting to a Vizio LCD. I am having issues setting up the IR Extender ... I have no clue where to set it on the Sat Box.

Hello this is Dan Busa with DISH Network. I'm not quite sure if this is the answer you need, the way you need this set is you want the IR blaster pointing directly at the IR sensor on your receiver (the three holes by the power light) the actual extender just needs within close range of your remote.

I have had the Terk LF30S for almost 2 years. About a month ago our electricity went out and when it came back on there was no picture on the receiving TV. I called Tech Support at Terk and their only...

When you unplugged it, did you leave it unplugged for 10 full long seconds and press any button for that 10 full seconds as well, then wait a few more before plugging it back in? That is the correct procedure. If that still doesn't work, then either the firmware needs to be updated, or there is a faulty IC chip in the device that will need to be replaced.

You live too far away from the stations transmitters. In this case, you need an outdoor ant. to do the job.(roof top).I live in Orlando area and I get 35+ channels.

Using the device from the cable outlet

Not a stupid question. You should have received all the cables you need with the Leap Frog. To hook up your tv, take your transmitter and one set of a/v cables, usually red, white and yellow. Do one cable at a time. Your tv outputs should be color coded. You should have one set of three jacks completly open on the back or side of your tv, i.e. labeled component 1, component 2, aux 1, etc. First plug select one set of jacks. Plug a yellow plug into the yellow jack on your tv labeled video out. Plug the white plug into the white jack labeled audio L out. Plug the red plug into the red jack labeled audio R out. Now do the same on the transmitter but the jacks should say in. Yellow, white and red to video, audio L and audio R. Now take your receiver into the other room and do the same thing with the other tv. The cables go from the receiver out jacks to one set of jacks labeled Aux, component, etc like before. Pick a set that has all three open. Red to red, white to white, yellow to yellow. Make sure you then have the transmitter and receiver plugged in. Your remote is supposed to work from your other room. If this solved your problem please rate this as fixed. If you need more help with this just add a comment and I'll be glad to help you. Thanks.
