Sounds like a settings issue please provide more information such as what is your camera set at; ISO, Shutter speed, F-Stop & how are you using it, manual mode. Aperture priority, shutter priority or Auto? I would need this info to further direct you in trouble shooting your issue.
You can try wash again in pur ewater with out batteries and leave to dry in hot press or very warm area of house for a few days 5 days min. then put back battery and say a nice little prayer before you press the pwer button and who knows The Man above may answer your request.
i have the canon a720IS and was having similar problem with my
date/time. once i discovered the small cr1220 battery next to the
regular battery compartment, i replaced it but the problem still was
there.
i looked closely at the cr1220 compartment and took a
toothpick and just pulled the metal prongs out a bit, so that they were
in better contact with the cr1220 battery. ever since then i've had no
problems.
had same problem - carpet soaked with dirty water and very little, if any, cleaning fluid used. Easily remedied. Removed water resevoir and found that the rectangular shaped washer at the top of the front cover (the bit you had unscrewed to give a good clean) had become dislodged. It has small lugs on either size which lock on to the plastic opening when pushed down firmly. Resevoir then sits on top and makes full connection, also ensure that grey locking handle is fully pushed down.
Seemed to me that the water wasn't being sucked up as there was air getting in and this has down the trick. Sorry if this is difficult to follow but all will become clear when you look for the black washer! Good luck
Its a big job, If your petty handy, You have to start from the back of the camera, Remove rear cover,Then front cover, Next lcd Display unit, Hopefully your haven\'t put the battery\'s in the camera for a while because the flash has high voltage in it, if you have, You must discharge first, them take circuit board out,Then lens assy, Now the fun part, You have to take the lens apart from the back also, Like I said its a big job, Better when you get this far into the camera you just replace the lens, with a used one form a diff camera (same model )
I took the camera apart, painstakingly removing all the screws. Within the zoom area were two small loose pieces, one appeared to be a lens, the other a thin metal cover. I placed the parts back into their place, and put all the screws back, except for the case. When I did a test to see if everything would work..... Eureka !!! No, sorry, Darn! The camera appears to be at the same status, turns on long enough to see the "For Service...." message pop on the screen,
then the camera powers off. I will be taking the camera apart again, and will use a meter to check connections. Will report back if there is further progress on this situation.
