I downloaded the video game but it won't play, the control menu comes up, I hit play and it acts like it's booting up and then goes back to my desktop

Call Sony. They will fix it for you, no problem. They will ship you a "Coffin" to send the PS3 back, and if it can not be fixed, they will replace it with a refurbished one.

Typically ps3s do not launch straight into the game. You do have to go through the menu and select the games portion, and then the game disc. This should launch your game. I have to do it every time I want to play a game.

It sounds like you are having a firmware problem. This is common with blue ray. You will have to go to the ps3 site and download the firmware upgrade for your system. I think you can upgrade automatiacally if your ps3 is hooked up to the internet. Go to menu settings and look for updates for firmware or divers...

Take out the game cartridge then boot it up, then go to settings and change boot up to manual.

Do need the internet, just go into your settings tab on the intro menu for the PS3 and hit system update. Use the via internet option and it finds the newest version...2.70. Takes a bit to download but, when it's done you get to enjoy watching the otherwise $30 drink coaster.

You just need to go back in and re download the games again. Sometimes that happens, either that or you won't even be able to play at all. Just go back into the WII shop and go to the recently downloaded and click on re download. That will fix it. Good luck. Let me know if this was helpful.

Most PS2 games are dark and auto brightness controls will casue your LCD tv to brighten up automatically in response the dark video coming from PS2 games. I suggest you get into the menu settings of your TV and find a setting that will shut off the auto picture controls.
