Is there a cheap battery replacement for the Black and Decker phv1800 portable vacuum. So far I have found a replacement battery and motor for about $30 more than buying a whole new vacuum! So much for sustainable design!!
I would go out and buy another one because it works so well but when I add the cost of throwing out the original one I will have to consider finding another more ecologically friendly product if I can't find just a battery.
Hi pwolft...
Amazon offers pretty large number of black decker replacement batteries, click here Finally charging for our multi device world and pick one (which fits).
Hope this was helpful.
enjoy
Can't find anything. Anyway here Black Decker BDH2000PL MAX Lithium Pivot Vacuum 20 volt you can find new one (good price), or at least ask the vendor, if he can sell only the battery. best of luck
Take a look here Finally charging for our multi device world and see if somethings fit. cheers

Hi
I know what you mean! My B&D dust buster used to do this too. The hi power boost means that it can only be used for a limited amount of time. Due to the age of the dust buster though its a sign that the battery is on its way out and regardless of whether or how long its been used or not used, batteries can lose power regardless.
Try to let the dust buster completely lose power and then charge it up for its initial burn in period of 14 hours. Also clean the connection metal strips or hole with a dry cotton bud incase there's any static or dust. Then see if it lasts longer. If the turbo mode or speed 2 is still short, then the battery is dying out.
I don't know where you are but in the UK its hard to get battery replacements for B&D products. You could check your local seller where you are if they have battery replacements but at the cost of current dustbusters it may make more economic sense to consider buying a new dustbuster.

If you are handy with a soldering iron, and don't mind spending a few hours building a new battery pack using 1.2 volt "sub c" cells, you can disassemble the PHV1800, and rebuild the pack yourself. I just did it tonight, and the vacuum works like new.
However, I'm not going to do this again. The PHV1800 doesn't use a single battery pack, but 2 packs that have to be assembled with very little room for error. You can purchase a combination battery pack/motor assembly for $75 (US currency, price currect as of 10/2011), unscrew the screws that hold the vacuum together, and replace the battery/motor unit as one.

yes i can see it, and according to that, heres my answer
you can try pulling harder.. or use the screwdriver as a lever... it doesn't make sense that if you unscrew everything, you cant pull it out, so maybe its something tats a bit stucked

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
This can be caused due to one of the following reasons.
Bad Charger or the Charging IC!
Dead or Weak battery.
Loose contact of charger pin with the socket.
If you have purchased a new unit, then you can go for a warranty claim in case the problem in not solved at user end.
Best of Luck,
Concerned,

OK, very old question but people still coming here for this. Most wireless vacuums from Black and decker, has a battery pack that is not changeable. In the case of the PHV1800 the pack is the same part as the motor. You have 2 options here. You can take the battery cells out and look for the model and buy them (they are about 2/4 dollars each.) but need to have soldering skills. Another thing (what I did) is to take the cells out an direct connect a cable to the motor, and a 12v car connector in the other end. So now I use it as a manual cabled vacuum for no cost. Will spin like 10% less Thant the original speed with full new batteries, but will do the job pretty the same.
IO'm adding a picture so you can understand what I'm talking about
