I don't understand. I replaced the lamp module, but the "replace Lamp" message still appears, and now the projector turns off after a few minutes. Did I not purchase the proper part? The lamp I replaced was in a framework that slid into the unit. Should the timer reset just by putting the unit in? Should I keep turning it on until that fuse blows? Thank you! Larry

Found a solution... hold the reset and left arrow untill message appears on bottom of the screen then release then use arrow button to return timer to 0
Take out your lamp . on the lamp's bracket you will see a small chip board on the side. The only way you can reset this unit is to either get a new board ( that they don't sell separately ) or to replace the lamp as a whole.
The chip on the side has a fuse that blows only once and then resets the lamp timer.

Yes to replace the lamp you need to remove the 2 screws. You can touch the lamp but I try not to. After the lamp is in you need to reset the hr timer for the lamp. to do this you need to look in manual on page 34.
If you do not have the manual you can get it here at link below.
if the timer is reset, try cleaning the color wheel. Optoma HD20 Projector Cleaning this video is for an optoma but the color wheel is cleaned the same way in most DLP projectors. Dirty or dusty color wheel sensors cause the projector to shut down and act like its the lamp.

After switching on, on the main unit press reset button and left button at same time. After a few seconds text at the very bottom of the display will show something like LAMP (1751). then release and select the same two buttons again, and then again (I think) and the LAMP (0) should appear and it is reset. if this sounds a little vague its because this is what I remember doing as I was trying different things out on my cp-x960.
If you do not have a remote here is how to reset the filter time. Use the "Menu" bottun to get the "easy menu" to display. Push the down arrow until you get to "Filter Time," then push and hold the RIGHT arrow to reset the filter time. DO NOT try to reset using the "Reset" option on the easy menu, it will not work.
What you want to do is go to the advanced menu, find the filter time and using the remote hold down reset button for 3 seconds or so while the filter time is selected. This will bring up a reset menu and reset the timer.
easy on botem vent unscrew it then u see screw in ther holding balest of the bulb unscrew it litte pull up action on its arm as u will see lift it all out to get new in then reset timer ok
