My wii system can't connect to my wireless Internet. It has an error code of 51032. What does that mean? It has also been connected to my wireless before, it won't make the connection now

Check to see if your router has a firewall. It might be blocking the signal from the wii. The Wii can't work though firewalls from routers.

Also your router should have something called MAC settings. Get your wii MAC number and add it to your router's list of MAC users. You need to activate your routers MAC settings for this of course. Also any other wireless accessing devices (laptops etc) need to included via there MAC numbers in your routers MAC list.

I use a LINKSYS WRT54g2 so my info above should help.

I don't know how to port forward my comtrend adsl+

A. Determining the IP Address and MAC Address of a Computer:

Note: Please use the computer for which the Ports are to be opened:

For Windows 2000/XP users:

1. Please click on Start and select Run.
2. Type in cmd and click on OK.
3. In the Command Prompt, please type ipconfig/all then press Enter or Return key.
4. Please make sure that the Ethernet adapter has an IP Address that is the same range as the router (e.g. 192.168.1.2 for the computer and 192.168.1.1 for the router).
5. Please note down the IP address and Physical address.

B. Reserving an IP Address:

1. Please open any web browser like Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.
2. Connect to the router by typing http://192.168.1.1 in the address field and click Enter or Return key.
3. A window will prompt for a user name and password. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "admin".

4. When the setup page opens, click on LAN IP Setup under Advanced tab.
5. Click on Add under Address Reservation.
6. Under Address Reservation window, please select the radio button of the computer you wish to add from the Address Reservation Table.
7. If the computer you want is not on the list, please click on the Refresh button to update the table.
8. If the computer is still not on the Address Reservation Table, please type in the IP Address, MAC Address (Physical Address), and Device Name of the computer you wish to add.
9. Click the Add button when done.

C. Opening Pre-Defined Ports for Internet Services:

1. Click on the option with the name Port Forwarding/Port Triggering under the Advanced menu.
2. Please select the service type Port Forwarding. The router pre-defined services are listed there.
3. From the Service Name pull down list, select the service that needs to be hosted.
4. Enter the IP address of the computer in the Server IP Address box.
5. Click the Add or Apply button.
6. Repeat all steps to open more ports.

Note: If the name of the Internet service does not appear in the drop down list, you may manually open the ports for that Internet service. Please follow the steps below:

D. Opening Ports for Games, Applications or Custom Ports:

1. Click on Add Custom Service button.
2. Type the service name in the Service Name box and the lower range numbers in the Starting Port box.
3. If the application uses only a single port; type in the same port number in the Ending Port box.
4. If the application uses a range of ports; type in the higher range numbers in the Ending Port box.
5. Type the IP address of the computer in the Server IP Address box. Click Apply button.
6. It will then refresh to the Port Forwarding page, and will show the list of all ports opened in tabulation.
7. Repeat all steps to add more ports for more services.

E. To Edit or Delete a Service Entry:

1. Click on the Radio Button that needs to be Edited /Deleted, under the Port Forwarding page.
2. Modify the information from the Service Name, Starting Port, Ending Port, and the Server IP Address, and then click the Apply button.

Changing nat on xbox live

I had this issue, and solved it recently. Everyone on the internet will tell you to forward ports, or disable the NAT setting, but these never worked for me. As I was about to give up and buy a new router, as a last resort I decided to call tech support. In about 3 minutes they fixed my problem, and it is much easier then port forwarding.

-First go into your 360 network settings and find its mac address.
-In the router settings move to the LAN tab.
-Then go to "dhcp leases".
-Under "current dhcp leases" your 360 should be listed (match the mac address)
-Make a note of the IP address listed for the 360, then delete that lease.
-Now Reserve a new IP address, enter in the MAC address and IP address you wrote down for the 360.
-Check the bypass firewall option (and give it a name if you want) and then add the new entry.
-On the same page, move up to "DMZ Host" find your new entry and click "apply"
-Click the option to reboot your SBG900, then restart your 360, and the NAT should be open.

I hope this helps, if I described it correctly it should be much easier then port forwarding, and more importantly, it should work.

Internet access with wireless

Hi,

Assuming that your laptop has a built-in WiFi Networking card (or even a USB or PCMCIA WiFi adapter), normally its a matter of setting your Network configuration to "Auto obtain IP address automatically". This could be done in your Control Panel/Networking Connections, right click on your wireless Networking, click on Properties, highlight Internet protocol (TCP/IP), click on the Properties button and tick "Obtain...".

In some instances you might need to key in the WEP or WPA security key if it has been enabled and set in your WiFi router, though it has been known to slow down connections. If on the otherhand the router has its MAC filter enabled, then you would need to add your laptop's WiFi MAC numbers to the list that the router would allow access to.

Should the above be not corrective of your concern, pls post back with the make & model of your router, laptop, and the WiFi adapter if external/add-on. Knowing your Operating System would also help.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Looks like a mac address problem, follow these steps if you feel up to it, or hire someone to do it for you.

Steps:

1. Locate the PS3 MAC address number: Settings - System Settings - System Information
2. Open the software controlling the rounter. This is usually done my typing the router's IP address on your browser. ie http://192.168.0.1
3. Locate a tab for FILTERS
4. Select MAC filters.
5. Enter the PS3 MAC address from previous step as an allowable MAC address.
6. Save entry. At this point router will reset itself.
7. Go back and set up the wireless connection on PS3. Select all settings automatic or EASY as the case maybe.

Partial internet connections

Hi,

A quick workaround is to assign static/fixed IP address to the Compaq. Just follow the numbers listed on the Dell and simply add 1 to the IP. Example if Dell PC1 uses IP Add of 192.168.1.100 and PC2 uses 192.168.1.101 both with Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0 and Default Gateway of 192.168.1.1, then set the Compaq to 192.168.1.103, 255.255.255.0 & 192.168.1.1. Likewise, replicate the DNS Server numbers from the Dell to the Compaq.

If this does not work out for you or for some reason you prefer to have a DHCP assigned number, please post back, specific model of the Compaq, Operating System, the WiFi Networking card of the Compaq, security settings (WEP, WPA, MAC Filter) Further, please describe "partially working", what works and what doesn't.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back details as above requested or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
