Drivers wont install on win7 64-bit - Netopia (3342) Modem

go to bios settings and note type of cd device model number for cd drive and then search internet for windows 64 bit driver for model number and install

Use Vista Driver in Windows 7. Check your operating system if it's running on 32-bit or 64-bit. On your computer, go to Start menu > right-click on Computer > Properties. Take note of the System Type.

Once the HP support site opens up, at the top choose the right windows version you have and then download the drivers.

 

Note: to find the version of windows 7 you have you can click on start, then right click on computer and click properties. In the system properties you can find if you have a 32 bit version or 64 bit version.

Windows 7 has a 32 and a 64 bit version to it. They use two different drivers, so you will need to check to see which version you have and download/install the correct version of the driver. You can download the right driver from Digital Blues website: http://www.digiblue.com/customer-service/downloads/.

The easiest way to determine if you have windows 7 64 or 32 bit is to go to your "computer" icon in the start-up menu, and click on the C: drive. Then if you have the 64 bit version you will see a folder called "program files (x86) and a program files folder. if you only have the program files folder, then you have 32 bit version.

I had the same problem on my 64-bit Vista desktop. Here's what I did to fix it:

• I uninstalled the device and drivers from device manager
• I downloaded the latest Androik SDK from developer.android.com/sdk/ (in my case, it was the 1.5R1, but now it's up to the 1.5R3)
• I unzipped the package to a 'AndroidSDK' folder on my desktop
• I reinstalled the drivers from device manager. Just click 'Refresh', and it should ask you for the drivers, if not just find the 'Unknown Device' in the list and right-click and select 'Install Drivers'.
• When asked to find a driver, browse to the "AndroidSDK\Drivers\WindowsVista\64-bit\' folder on your desktop. It should install the proper drivers (took about 10 minutes for me), and everything should work after that...

if u r the do it yourself type... go to www.lexmark.com. in the search box on top right corner type "x1185". click search. scroll downwards & click on download driver & select windows vista. before u start download check whether urs is vista 32 bit or 64 bit. right click on computer entry in start menu & click properties. check what it says there under operating system type: 32 bit or 64 bit. if its 64 bit... download vista_x64 driver from the lexmark site else select just vista. after download... comes the long process of installation which would take even more instructions. i think u can just call the tech support & it will be a first call resolution

r u using 64-bit because vista 64-bit wont allow drivers that are not whql certified to install...
