Have a Husqvarna yth2448. Cranks and runs fine, but within about twenty minutes, cuts off.(with blades engaged or not). Will recrank, but will shut back down within a few seconds. Sometimes will recrank, and run for a short while, but will eventually shut off again. Always will recrank, but will not run very long after recranking most times.

Sounds like a weak coil. When cold it's good when hot it loses spark.

SOURCE: Husqvarna Mdl YTH2448 Riding Mower - Electric PTO Not Working

It sounds like your charge system is not working. If you jump the battery the engine will run with a weak battery but the pto clutch needs a strong battery to stay engaged.Try this to test it,after you jump it leav the jumper cables hooked up and try to engage the blade clutch,if it runs it is either a battery that wont take a charge or a charge system not working. If you put a volt meter on the battery while the engine is running and the voltage is 13 volts the charge system is working and the battery is bad.

SOURCE: I have a Husqvarna CTH 171. When i engage the blades they

Does the lever that engages the blades have pressure on or does it feel loose. It is possible that the linkage from the lever to the idler pulley has come off. Raise the hood and watch the lever as it is engaged and disengaged there shold be somekind of linkage moving a pulley in and out to tighten the belt so the blades will turn. hpope this helps

SOURCE: Blades will not engage on Husqvarna riding mower.

Could be a broken belt, loose belt (stretched) or something is under the mower deck jamming the blades. (stick for an example)

I have a yth2448 , and when I engage the mower blades the elec. clutch is drawing to much electricity (the alternater gauge drops to negative when I pull the knob to engage the blades and its draining the...

Disconsolate the connector from the clutch. Engage the clutch circuit and see if electrical circuit still response as if shorted.

If the response is the same check wiring, switch and relay. Replace/repair defecrive component.

If the response is no problem check the clutch. Inspect the connector at the clutch for broken failed wire connection. Using an ohm meter check for short. The expected resistance is about 3 -4 ohms. If the resistance is less then 1 ohm the PTO clutch is bad. Sorry. It is the solenoid coil has an internal short. Confirm if the clutch is still in warranty.

check the belt as it bound, if you do not think so then take it off(the belt) and engage the PTO if it does not die then it is: the belt, pulley, or blades are/is the reason why it is stalling Tim

Husqvarna yth2448 pto switch kills motor/battery will not charge

you may hav a bad alt. problem with the mower dying when you engage the pto is most likley a bad sensor or wire unplugged on the seat sensor.the way it works is if the blades are turning and it dosent sense you being on the seat the mower shuts down.this has been standard on mowers for quite a few years now. it keeps the blades from cutting you up if you fall off the seat while mowing. as for charging i would try cleaning the battery connections and get the battery checked first.

Spitting and sputtering

mine did the same, I found out that the high speed jet was clogged, I pulled the fuel line off the filtor(going to the carb), stuck the line into a mixture of half gas half carb cleaner, I fanned it up and in 2 or 3 minutes it started running well, hope this helps.
