My Vivitar vivicam 8025 shows msdc on the screen and I can't get past it to do anything. I can't even charge the battery. What should I do?
also I am missing the instruction manual that came with it. Can I download it from some site?

Make sure the battery is in the camara correctly. I had the problem with the blue screen and MSDC showing and it would not hold a charge. the battery has to be in correctly. It will go in wrong and look right so match up the silver three marks on the battery to the three marks inside the camara where the battery goes. It worked after i did that. Hope this helps!!!
The MSDC option in digital cameras stands for Mass Storage Device Class. It is one of the many subclasses of the USB computer peripheral connection protocol. This class as implemented in digital cameras, allows a connection between a computer and a digital camera by showing the digital camera, when connected to the computer, as a removable disk drive, temporarily attached to the computer. Pictures taken are retrieved using either cut and paste, copy and paste or drag and drop from the digital camera's picture folder onto a real hard drive or other writeable media available in the computer.
MSDC stands for mass storage device. Is it possible that there is no memory card inserted? Or maybe the internal memory is full? Try connecting it to your computer via USB and see what it does... Good luck!
i have the same camera and the same problem but i have found out msdc means mass storage device, for the camera to work you have to have a memory card inside it. im getting one tomorrow for mine, so hopefully that should solve the problem :)
My roommate had the same problem, pretty easy to fix. Make sure your memory card and battery are all the way in and they should lock. If you lost the booklet, the positive/geative signs should be on the bottom right when sliding it in.
