Maytag Neptune Washer MAH8700AWW will not spin. It will fill, drain, tumble ect but will not spin. i tried a quick spin test and it sounds like it is trying to drain after all the water drains. I went through the Inboard and Outboard tests in service mode and the spin is the only function that won't work. I even tried the quick spin in service mode and it sounds as it is trying to drain. I pulled the drain pump and it is clean and working and only about a cup of water came out. Help!

If the clutch fails the first thing noticed is a UC or DC error displayed and there is no drain or spin.

If you are seeing the above error and having a problem with spin and drain then the most likely cause of this is the clutch. The clutch fails to lock down the spinners and the basket is unable to go into spin and without a 90 RPM there is no drain.

Replace the clutch.

4 screws takes the front off the washer to find the leak, dryer probably needs drum rollers. If you didnt know maytag went bankrupt for a reason

I would pull the 120VAC power cord to the washer for 10 seconds then power back up.
See if you can get into service mode. To enter Service Mode press and hold he Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys for three seconds or until the control beeps and the display reads “00”. If you can’t get into Service Mode I feel you have a Control Board issue/failure.

If you can get into Service Mode then go to page 15 of the SM and we want to try a Quick Service Cycle test. Follow the instructions to enter the Quick Service Cycle test and let us know the results. If the test will run it will take about 10 minutes.

My Maytag® Neptune® washer filled with water, but it won't spin or drain-what now?

Start by making sure the machine is plugged into a live (working) electrical outlet. Then check the appropriate circuit breaker and reset it if necessary (or check the fuse if you have a fuse box).

Next, inspect the drain hoses and remove any kinks. Take a look at the drain, too - if it's clogged, call your usual drain service person.

Then close the washer door and firmly press the START/STOP button. In a few moments, after the door locks, the washer should begin to spin. (For your safety, the washer will not tumble or spin unless the door is closed and locked.)

Here are some facts that may be the sounds!

check the door lock and do a quick drain.

means that
Water is being extracted through the drain holes in the spinner and is
hitting the outer tub before draining out of the machine.
