Hi,
Could you please verify if your KRF-V4070, cd player and surround sound system all has that small dark red window. If none, it may because and to my understanding, the Kenwood KRF-V4070 remote control uses RF (modulating the amplitude of the electromagnetic field) with a coil in a tuned circuit. whereas most (but perhaps not all) universal remote uses infrared. The former is radio frequency, the latter uses light.
Further, if all the above 3 items do not have an infrared window and considering the difference in technology used, then the universal remote will not work with your cd player and surround sound system.
I am afraid your only option is to purchase another KRF-V4070.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
Can you provide the brand and model of the universal remote control?
Hi Gw, my name is Mike Houston a Social Media Representative at DISH. I understand you want to program your innvoage remote to our DISH receiver. When we send out our DISH receivers we will include our own DISH universal remotes that can control many different components like; HDTV, surround sound receivers and sound bars. We do not have the codes for other universal remotes to work with our system. I will provide you a link explaining in more detail on programming your remote: http://www.ehow.com/way_5501311_innovage-jumbo-universal-remote-instructions.html
