My GE front load washing machine is leaking water. I pulled the front panel and cleaned out the filter and left the panel off while running a load and discovered the leak originates from the area where the water flows into the machine at the upper part of the door. What is the cause of the problem and how do I go about repairing the leak? Thank you!

Check the door gasket for any damage. A rip or a tear could be the cause of the leak.

GE front loading washing machine model # 4 wbvh6240fww It won't drain. Don't know where the pump filter is, that everyone is recommending to check and clean. Where is the access panel for the...

The filter is hidden below the lower front panel (3 screws hold this in place) Turn the pump cleanout knob counterclockwise about 2 turns and be ready to mop up any water that leaks out as you remove it. To avoid spillage, you can pull the machine out and tip it backwards 45 degrees.

Ok! This is crazy! I have a GE Top Load Washer. It will leak all over the floor if it is on higher than Medium load. But, on Medium it will not do the final spin, so I have to flip it to large so it will...

Empty the water out of the machine. Open the front panel by pushing in the clips (2) at the top edge of the front panel (where it meets the washers top) while pulling outward gently on the front panel. Now, remove the thin hose attached to the left front side of the wash tub. Clean the goop out of the hose. (a thin wire with a loop bent into the end of it generally works rather well) Also, poke a wire (like a paper clip) into the plastic nipple the hose had been attached to making sure that that is clear also. Re-attach hose and replace front panel. Done.
This is a common problem, usually seen on machines which bleach is rarely used. To prevent re-occurance, run a load at the smallest water level, hottest water, with a tablet of Affresh or a bottle of
Washer Magic, every few months.

When I wash towels they are soak when the cycle is done. How do I get the washer to properly spin the excess water our of the towels?

I have a GE front loader and this problem drove me nuts after spending $$$$ and having this problem only after 2 years of operations! Please check the filter screen. Remove the screws that hold the front panel to the body. There will be water coming out, so have some towels and a pan to collect. Once the panel is removed, there is a knob for the filter screen which needs to be turned to remove. Have your pan ready because it will leak. You can clean the screen by hand removing the gunk (keep the money for your efforts, however :)) Replace the filter, turn to tighten, replace the front panel and screws and run the washer through a short cycle to check out everything and make certain there are no leaks before you walk away. Good Luck!

Water is leaking from the bottom and does not discharge from drain hose

Part of the problem is that your filter is clogged. Remove the front bottom panel by unscrewing 3 small screws at the base. At the lower right, there is a filter cap that you need to unscrew by hand. Be sure to put a small pail before you unscrew it because a lot of water will come out. Then clean the filter and screw it back in.

In terms of the leaking, that started with my washer just recently. It's not the filter....think it's the rubber seal in the front. If you pull back the rubber, there are small drainage holes that can get clogged. Cleaning helps, but doesn't solve it.

The front Load machine does not spin the excess water fron the wash on the final rinse. If I set the spin cycle again, it works ?

Most all front load machines have a pump filter. If the bottom front panel is removable, remove and unscrew filter. Clean filter

LG WM2487 Leak Front Left

Not sure if this machine is similar to the WM2277, but here is the procedure for that - my leak was in the "baffels" hose that connects the drum to the drain pump:

1. Drain the machine - pry the panel at the front left lower corner to get access to a stoppered tube. drain as much water from here as possible.
2. Remove screw visible inside this area and remove the white molded plastic - also remove the screw behind that plastic.
3. Open the washer door and remove the spring loaded wire around the door gasket. Carefully pull the door gasket away from the panel push inside and then reclose the door.
4. Remove the detergent drawer and the two screws visible behind it.
5. Pull the top of the electronics panel away from the machine and lift up - place on top of machine or hook it out of the way
6 Remove the 4 screws that are visible holding the front panel to the machine. Left the entire front panel up about 2 inches and swing to the right (there is a wire connecting the door to the machine on the right)

Wash machine won't empty the water.

There is a filter behind the bottom front panel of washer. Remove bottom three screws and remove panel. Get something to catch water. Unscrew filter. Clean out filter drain. Should be good.
