I need to instrall my HP Officejet 6500 Wireless fax procedures? Can not find my instruction manual.
This is HP Support, and the download page for the User Manual, and also the Wired/Wireless Networking Guide, (Should you need it),
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3795406&
Both the User Manual, and the Wired/Wireless Networking Guide are PDF files.
After you click on the file name you want, you may not see anything happening for a few seconds. Please be patient, it is downloading.
Advise not looking through the file, until it has fully downloaded. You may break the download connection if you do.
To save either PDF file to your computer;
1.AFTER the file has fully downloaded, go up to the top header of the file. Left-click on the Floppy Disk icon.
This is the second icon from the left.
If you hover your mouse cursor over it, it will briefly reveal,
'Click to save this file to your computer or another location'
After you click on the Floppy Disk icon, a small window comes up.
Save a copy...
At the bottom of the Save a copy... window you will see File name: and a box to the right of it.
If you do not wish to have to look for the file name,
(For example - c01669504.pdf is the file name for the User Manual), you can add to it.
Put your mouse cursor after the f, in .pdf
Left-click Twice.
Make one space with your spacebar.
Now type - OfficeJet 6500 User Manual
Then go below to the right, and click on - Save
You have to do the above to add to the file name. If you do not click twice, you will wipe the original file name off, and it will not be found by your computer.
You are adding To - c01669504.pdf
Makes it easier to find later.
By copying it to your computer, you can burn a copy off to a CD disk. Use it anytime you want, instead of having to download it to view it. (After you copy it to CD disk, you can also delete it off of your computer, and save harddrive space)
If you do not have your downloads set to save to your My Documents folder, (Documents for Vista), this file will go ot your desktop screen.
(Windows XP. Click on Start>Then click on My Documents)
In either place, when you see it, Double-click on the file name to open it.
