IF YOU ARE REFERING TO IT SAYING WEEK SIGNAL IT IS BECAUSE YOU SHOULD BE ON HDMI INPUT FOR TV,go to menu scroll to hdmi -1or2 input for cable hdmi input,i had same thing.

What is the signal source that you are watching on your HD61Z456?
The problem you describe usually happens when you aren't using an HD source or have downgraded the signal by the composite input on your TV. (Composite cables only support 480i SD signals.)

You will only see 720p HD content from HD sources, if you use HD compatible inputs. Some OTA channels are also broadcast as only analog signals (usually the -2 and higher sub-channels). If you have cable or satellite, make sure that you have the HD programming and have tuned to the HD version of the channel.

The HDMI and component inputs both support HD signals.

JCV 52Z585 has 1 port HDMI that support 480p
if your input higher your tv will not support.
There are 2 type of HDMI 480p signal, 640x480 and 720x480.
To seting input HDMI to JVC, you should seting input device to default resolution or 480 depend on device (DVD, PC, blueray etc).

Do a reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. JVC may allow warranty exception or some accomodation for 15 days out. You have 2 seperate issues

1. White lines spreading is probably a video process problem. I think this TV has 3 Boards inside. Middle one is most likely suspect followed by the one on the Right

2. HDMI input not working is because they were turned OFF. JVC TV's have a sensor that will shut off the HDMI if the TV's back cover is removed. This must be reset in the Service Menu.

Yes, that is correct. You can either use optical or digital for the audio to the jvc system. They give you 2 options but you can use either, they both work just as well.

See below for the correct setup to get the best clarity sound possible.

From Set top box:

1. Audio: optical or digital coax cable output --> jvc system Input
2. Video: hdmi output--> jvc system input

From JVC System:

1. Video: HDMI output---> TV HDMI input

TV:

1. only accepting HDMI input from JVC System.

This will provide you will sound from your jvc system at all times. Your JVC system is made to be used as a hub. So essentially what you are trying to do is connect all components into the JVC system. Then only connect the video portion to your TV. The TV itself should NOT be emitting sound.

Note: You may need to turn off the speakers in the TV setup menu to acheive no sound from the TV. This will make for the ultimate experience.
