Does this have 'auto threader' for lower looper?'

I recently received a Janome MyLock 634D from a friend. I'm not sure exactly how old it is (not very), but i need to thread it (unfortunately it came threaded, but it got jammed when i tried to 'tie' new thread on) and i can't seem to make sense of the pathways in the instructions, which i downloaded from the internet. i live in europe and haven't tried to bring it to someone to help me just yet (language is an issue!). any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TRYING TO THREAD THE 634d I DON'T HAVE A MANUAL I HAVE ORDERED ONE DO YOU HAVE A DIAGRAM OR ANYTHING THAT WILL HELP ME PLEASE!

I have this serger, also. A friend (who knows sergers) and I spent 2 hours today trying to get the lower looper threaded--with no success! There is a diagram in the door of my machine, but it is still very confusing! I'm taking mine to the shop on Monday and have them thread it and show me how to do it!

Letture leaf edging

From "Serge With Confidence" by Nancy Zieman:

Set the machine up for a 3-thread rolled edge. Normal width; length 1 - 2.

Use Woolly Nylon in the loopers & regular thread in the needle.

Lock or disengage the cutting blade.

Guide fabric along the right edge of the presser foot.

Stretch and equal amount from fron to back while serging.

Lower the differential feed, if available to about 0.6.

Serge at a slow to moderate speed.

Practice with scraps first.

After serging, gently stretch & release the fabric edge after serging.

I BOUGHT A USED JAMONE SERGER MY LOCK 634D . I DON'T HAVE AN USERS MANUAL. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO THREAD IT

Here is a manual - http://ifixmachines.com/Janome-Model-634D/View-all-products.html

The thread guide should be inside the door.

Lift the antenna and presser foot. Turn the tensions to zero, if possible.

Turn the handwheel so the upper looper is at the highest point - there may be a mark on the side of the serger to align with a mark on the handwheel.

Begin threading from the right to the left, beginning with the lower looper.

Retiming Mylock Serger 234D

Ooh, I've heard it is difficult timing a serger because there's more involved than a sewing machine.

You can try looking at videos and web sites:

MyLock 634D won't serge

Check that your lower looper is actually threaded and not tangled with the upper looper (needle thread) when it moves. I wish they'd include pictures in the manual how to lay the thread.

My serger

Self threading is perhaps not exactly correct, however there is a guide with an armature to release the guide to enable easy access........have a look in you manual

Also take a look at this image and move the lever to use it.....all will be easier to see with the needle plate off ....until you become familiar with the operation

Janome MyLock 644D

Yes, the model I used had a self threading lower looper. Just put the thread into the guide and flick the switch
