Have you tried it on a different TV?
If this does not fix the problem you can go On the main menu of your Nintendo console check settings for sound.
Are all games dont have sound?
check the settings of the game you are playing on the option check for sounds.
If still this dont fix the problem find a local electronic repair shop or service center and let them have a check for you.

Try changeing around your patch cords,You probaly have the input end output patch cords mix up.If they are not hooked up right you will get no sound. Unless there is a problem with the jacks on your amp or reciever

When my ps3 is plugged into my samsung hln467w with an auvio hdmi to dvi cord there is no sound.what should i change so that i have the nice picture with sound?

Audio is only carried on HDMI and not DVI. You can get video only with this type of cable. HDMI to HDMI would work but not HDMI to any other connector. You can run a seperate dual RCA (red and white) to your system to get audio.

Picture but no sound after using a converter for the hdmi cord to plug into a television without a hdmi plug

Make sure you double check your Audio settings on your PS3 so that they are being output by HDMI.

If that doesn't work, it may be that the adapter/converter you're using does not support audio within its adapter (not plugged up to the audio ports on your tv) If that's the case, then you may want to look into either component/composite video/audio or a fiber optic cord for sound (if your tv can support this)

No sound when the tv is on and the mute is turned off

I still am unclear as to your hook up but lets try this, if you have your DVD/VCR plugged into the TV audio and video and a audio cord from the tv monitor out to an input on the reciever, this way you should hear the sound at the tv and reciever.
However if you have your DVD/VCR plugged into the reciever first audio and video connections made at the reciever you should just have a video cord fromthe monitor out of the reciever to the tv and your audio will come from the reciever

No picture

A possible solution to your problem could be that the audio and video cords are plugged into different jacks in the television. I have experienced the same problem and i found that by switching the video cord to different inputs on the tv i would eventually have picture. The audio seems to be fine so leaving that cord where it is should be fine. On the remote to his tv there should be an "input" button that changes which components the tv is reading. If you press the input button and the picture appears on the screen but the sound goes away then your 2 plugs for the game console are not in the same channel on the back of the tv. I hope this helps

Camcorder playback sound problem

Please check your cords for continuity, try using another pair. If that doesnot work, try to hook it up with another sound system, like a receiver besides your TV.
This way you will able to narrow down if your camcorder audio output is defective. Good Luck.

No sound

The S-Video cord is for the picture only. You must connect the audio out behind the dvd player (the red and white jack) using a double male-to-male RCA cable to the" Audio In" in the TV to get sound.
