Unfortunately, it could be a number of things. I assume you have tried something else in the same power point to see that power is there? If the unit is dead, it could be a safety device has tripped out. Check if there is a reset button or similar on the fan. If not, the fan will need to be taken apart to find out what it is. There may be a broken cable or loose wire.
Your remote needs to be taken apart and cleaned. There is a circuit board on the inside that needs to be cleaned. There may be screws holding the remote together or it may have snaps. Hope this helps.
It sounds thermostat failure. It intermittently does not open or the overlimit is getting weak. replace your thermostats and this will fix your problem.
Ok, I took it apart, cleared the clog out, and put it back together. It wouldn't switch to "carpet". Got no answer on my question. Took it apart again, only I went further. Took apart the bottom - brush out, all inside bottom parts out, cleaned all that part of vac. No clogs down there. Ran the carpet/bare floor switch back and forth several times while I had it apart. Put it all back together and it worked fine. Still didn't find a fuse or reset button...
The reset button needs to be replaced. Once it has tripped, it loses it's setting and will trip at a much lower temperature. This is a standard procedure that LG is telling all their techs to do.
