Ok so once that is plugged in how do you get device to work? Assume the external device is working properly and the cables are installed correctly. Is there an other step to turn on the external drive to play the on hold music. I would assume when you turn on the BGM it will play from the external device but that does not happen. So perhaps I am missing a step. Again lets assume the equipment is working fine. How do I turn it on? Or should it automatically play once someone is placed on hold

The music is external to the phone system. In the back room or a closet somewhere, there's a dark blue and black cabinet that has a port that's marked MOH. It will go to some kind of box or computer that supplies the music. It may have a model or phone number on it. You change the music by buying or recording new MP3 files to play.

KX-T7730 phone is not changing the hold music although i have plugged in the mp3 player in the outside box, and tried to program it by doing the following: program > *#1234 > 104 > speaker phone...

If you're reading the programming instructions in order, keep going :-) I have no clue what SLT hold mode has to do with music on hold or background music, but when you get to 111-BGM-Music On Hold source, you can set it to external and you're in business.

Can you change the "on hold" music on the

The music source plugs into the EXT MUSIC port of the Panasonic System cabinet. It could be one or two jacks on the side of the box or the MPR card. Whatever supplies the music would need to be reprogrammed. In the USA, it's illegal to play unlicensed music on hold without paying a fee.

Can we change the music customers have to listen to whilst caller on hold or being transferred?

Sure, if you can find it :-)

The Music On Hold source plugs into the system cabinet into a port labelled ...MOH. Here, we use a product that fits on a USB memory stick with software to change the music. On your side of the pond, you might have different boxes, but there may be a product name or programmer source written on the MOH box.

We are using panasonic KX-T7633phones wherin we are getting complaints as whenever the rep put the customer on hold it plays an awful music on hold and our IT support says that this is notpossible to...

The TDA cabinet has at least 2 jacks, labelled EPG and MOH. Guess what MOH means :-)

I don't know about cost effective, but you can get an MP3 player or use a spare PC to stream MOH music to your phone system at prices starting as little as $29.

http://www.onholdstore.com/onholdsystems.html lists players that sell for $140-200, and the Software tab gets you Message Studio to make your own MOH productions. It includes free music and voices.

Outside of that, use the keywords MUSIC ON HOLD and you will see tons of prices and alternatives.

Panasonic KX-T7730 Corded Phone

If you truly have music, it comes from a box plugged into the cabinet. The unit could be made by several manufacturers, or could be a CD player. If the talent is music with alternating male and female voices saying "thank you for holding we appreciate your business", etc. then it's probably an OHP-6000 that comes with Message software. http://www.onholdstore.com/software.html

If you have "tones" on hold, then you need to acquire a music on hold box and make a couple of programming changes to set it up. MOH boxes and messages can be found by search engine. The keywords on hold music will get you 19 million hits.

Ringing sound when playing music

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
