It is a very real possibility as there are no beeps when it is removed, but that does not mean it is faulty, you could be getting POST beeps suggesting there is a fault with the mainboard, have it checked out with a local & reliable engineer who may be able to solve your problem.

Dell poweredge 830 server orange flashing light instead of solid blue. No fault on screen. any ideas?

its the cover switch. there is a small push switch on the front panel that detects if the front cover has been removed, either the switch is defective, or the cover is not seating properly to close the switch.

Blue light flashing

Someone has pushed the system identification button on the front of the server. If you push it again the light will be solid blue.

Machine emits continuous high pitched bleep and power light flashes blue/red

If working OK, probably means that the temperature alarm goes off because is getting hot the PC. I suggest to check why is that happening. All fans working OK? is the CMOS temperature alarm set too low? check your motherboard instructions booklet- It will tell you what the beeps mean probably in the last pages. Good luck
