Drum has stopped moving

I had strange noise coming from my Hotpoint Aquarius WMM39 during fast spin over a number of washes - like the noise a zipper or coin inside the drum would make only more "scraping". The drum has now died and will not turn at all - although the wash function appears to be ok otherwise i.e. lights are all coming on, water still going into and out of drum and detergent drawer.

Any ideas i.e. motor, belt, bearings?

Hotpoint wf740 aquarius 1400 v noisy banging during spin = dust

It could be a broken drum restraint spring, or a worn or broken. or loose shock absorber.
To check the springs, remove the top cover, and you will see the springs.
Another possibility is the concrete weight could be broken or loose.
You need to remove the lower rear panel of washer to check the shockers and concrete weight.
Please rate my solution.
Thankyou.

WATER IS COMING OUT FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE WASHING MACHINE ONCE THE WASHING HAS STOPPED, IT DOES NOT LEAK DURING CYCLE AND IT SPINS AND DRAINS FINE..

i would inspect both the hoses on the pump
no leak during cycle is explained because water is moving through them to fast to leak when the machine settles it starts to leak

My hotpoint wmm39 aquarius extra washes but does not spin

you are in an unfortunate delemer. It is either your spin winding thats gone or the control board or timer thats faulty. Normally a technician has spares to test against to prove by process of elimination.Aquick test, pull the pressure switch pipe off the drum assy. and retry spin cycle. Alao take note if all water is drained out of the tub. Let me know
