yes the battery needs to be replaced with the help of a certified technician because it contains precise electronic sensor and component.
The memory will be cleared when the battery is replaced.

Is watch dead or is battery dead

If your numbers dim when you push any button, it's probably a battery. If your numbers are off or very faint same problem, battery. Those watches take a 1.50 V cell because of the light, and multi functions. Any decent jewelry store should be able to have you in and out in 10 minutes or sooner.

Good luck, gabe.

How to change battery on Ehoward watch eh-23SA.

This is the model with the exposed button on the right side. The back does not come off, but the front does! If you use a loop you may be able to see a notch between 7 and 9 O'clock. Be very careful because the gasket keeping the watch water resistant is right there. You do not want to harm it. I put the watch in a holder and place a very thin jewelers screw drive on the side. With a jewels hammer I tap lightly until the front comes off. You must then carefully remove the movement from the case and not touch the hands. In order to close the watch after battery replacement, a watch press is a must. Without the press, you won't get the watch closed. The manufacturer suggests taking the watch to a qualified professional. You can send it to the manufacturer as well and they will change the battery for you. The Manufacturer is La Crosse Technology in La Crosse Wisconsin.

Replaced battery in my maurice laroix watch with a good brand battery it will not work crown is in correct position , watch has been standing for some time .....help

After replacing battery watch should be reset! Short the 2 contacts that are next to each other on the board, using a metal object. This is very safe!!!. Now you can set watch.

Hi my xg-55 froze up, how do I fix it

You will need to take this watch in to a local Certified Master Horologist. It will have to be opened and reset from the inside by shorting the appropriate contacts on the movement. It may also require a battery to operate properly, if it has not been replaced in the past 1-2 years.

If you wear this watch in the water, you need to have it pressure tested to ensure its resistance after the procedure. This is properly done with a pressure testing machine that usually is found at Horologist / Watchmaker shops only.

Lacrosse xg 55 - Do I need to replace the battery? When I use the light nothing displays is this a battery issue? How do I change it if it is the problem?

Take your watch to your nearest watch shop and ask them to do it for you.

You can get into difficulty replacing batteries and it is not worth the risk for
the small cost saving in doing it yourself.

Changed battery now it won't come on

Try shorting the battery case to the watch chassis (using a pair of tweezers perhaps).

This seems to be a standard instruction and I think this resets the watch.

The battery of my XG-55 is down. I tried with several watch repair labs, but they told me that after changing the battery, the watch doesn't start again. Any advice?

When you change the battery on this watch you have to short the circuit board. You need a fine pair of tweezers and you need to look on the circuit board for an arrow or bare spot, put 1 end of the tweezers on that place on the circuit board and the other on the battery at the same time. that should do the trick if the battery was installed correctly and the battery is good.
