    cheers Robin, managed to get it after an hour of fiddling around, now to move on to the dreaded ps3 :(

Most washers have an electric water valve in the back where the water hoses connect to the washer, and there are screens in it that can plug up with rust from your homes' pipes. The supply hoses may also have screens. If that is not the problem, it could be that the electric valve is bad, which is easy to change. First, as a repair man I always look for the simple fixes first, like making sure the water is turned on. Robin

It wont drain the water away after a wash we
sounds like your pump may be gone, or could be pipe blocked. to check pipe fill machine take outlet pipe at rear of machine and lay this into a bowl. If water flows ok then all pipes are clear. As water is coming through just put machine onto spin cycle and raise hose to see if water will then pump out.
