is this an electrical question?
the starter has 3 wires.
the ground wire goes to the starter mount bolt.
the hot wire Plus got the big , starter solenoid lug.
the small push on conn, only goes 1 places, the solenoid.
ALT
the lat has 2 connections.
the big lug ring lug, to the starter big stud
then just plug in the rear connnector
that be it.

correcting an old post. Do not listen to the guessing persons. this car is a V belt car. all are, by Geo 1.6L 89-98 (1.8L Suz, different car and matter) the 96 tracker is a 1.6L SOHC motor, they are sold with and with out A/C or P/S. "options" so are set up 4 different ways, ( i have the full 96 parts list)
