I have a 42 inch samsung tv that doesnt seem to work anymore. I have tried pluging it into another socket but it still wont work. When it is turned onit turns of by itself and wont turn on again, it will also not show any images. It makes a clicking sound when it is turned on. Can you please help?

does it try to power to green then turn red
if so something is detected as wrong

you could also just have the parental lock setup in a unknown way

check out the settings for it in the manual

hello have you checked the glass fuse inside the tv it will be in the power supply beware if replace the and blows again the you have a dead short circuit

poke it open, you'll find bloated capacitors at power supply board. biggest one, with power cord pluged into. replace with thesame value(s).

don't lie, next time! your set has been acting up fpr a while, before it quit. Remembering: few attempts to turn it on, then it works!

this is a serious problem which must be corrected by a professional .you can't do that by your self

If its a rear projection TV, the lamp is out. I had the same problem. Sony doesnt make this tv anymore, so you have to order the lamp and housing.

I suggest you enter the Philips model number to search for solutions already posted; unfortunately, Philips comes up too often; they were once a great manufacturer.   

A defective backlight.  I've had the issue several times now with my sharp 32" lcd tv and in the process of trying to get a replacement tv.
