  1. Step 1 Have your Xbox 360 correctly hooked up to television with HDMI or component cables. Turn your television and Xbox on. Make sure your television is on the correct input. Make sure that your WIndstream DSL Modem is on. If you have a router, make sure that it is on.
  2. Step 2 Obtain the security key for your wireless network, and write this key down. You will need this key to allow the Xbox 360 to have wireless access to the Internet. If you do not know where to find your wireless network key, you will have to access the security setup of your router. The way to do this varies by model, so check your user's manual to see how. If you don't plan on using the Xbox Wireless Adapter for your Xbox, you may skip this step.
  3. Step 3 Run a network cable (Ethernet) from your router or directly from the modem to the Xbox 360. Once you have this cable plugged in you will have to access the "My Xbox" tab on your dashboard. Go to the "System Settings" portion of the tab, usually the last portion on the right, and access network settings. For wired setups, go to the "Configure Network" option and make sure both the "IP Settings" and "DNS Settings" are set to automatic.
For wireless setups, you will need to have the Xbox Wireless Adapter plugged into the Xbox. Under the Network Settings, enter the security key that you obtained earlier to allow access to the Internet and Xbox Live.
  4. Step 4 Create an account on Xbox Live. You will need to either have a credit card or an Xbox Live subscription card. You can purchase Xbox Live cards at your local game retailer. You will be asked to enter information and create a user name called a "Gamer Tag." This is the name that you will be known as in the x-box community hope this help you out

Siemens Speedstream 4100: Enabling ports for Xbox live play

Do you have a router connected between modem and console? The speedstream itself has no port blocking. if it is a straight line between modem and console then all ports are already open, but chances are you have a router between the too, especially if you have other devices connected(computers and the like). If that is the case, then it is the router in which you need to open the ports. If you do have one, post make and model plus version number if applicable.

Connecting windstream dsl modem to xbox

Did you get a router, the dsl modem it self wont do much good, you need a router so it can assign your xbox an IP address. You need to have a router hooked up to the DSL modem, and the xbox hooked up to the router.

Static Ip with Speedstream 4200 Modem

I am assuming here with the way you have it set up your getting an internet connection.
what you saying i understsand mostly so i'll see if i can help you
first of all you have speedstreem modem that connects to you isp, this is assign your internet address from the isp if you paid for a static IP it would be in here, if not it's assiged by a dhcp from your isp company so if you if turn it off or have a power loss for anymore than 5-15min your ip changes.
now your modem then connects into your belkin router this as well as your modem it's prob set up as dhcp so it wants to issue each computer with an internal address of 192.168.0.X the reason for this is so it knows where to send the incomming information to what computer.
no matter what computer your using the address that goes over the internet will be the one assigned to modem from internet provider so if this need to be static IP to run your game server you will have contact your internet provider for an address.
but you may be confussing the issue a little, my suggestion to you would be:
1. go to your connections on each computer
2. right click on the lan connection choose properties
3. go to internet protocol (TCP/IP) then click properties
4. then click on obtain ip automatically and obtain dns automatically
this will remove the static windows address you may have put in.
try this and see if you can get you game or game server will work.
btw you may have to reboot your computers after this to get be sure to get the new address.

360 mtu test keeps failing

Access the routers setup page by typing 192.168.1.1 (ip address of the router) on the address bar on IE.

then on basic setup page at the bottom part of the page you will see MTU normally its on auto,
to change the value set it to manual. ask your isp what is their prefferred value for the mtu you can go as high as 1300 to 1500.

Xbox live

THINGS TO TRY loadTOCNode(1, 'whattotry'); Direct connection with a modem only loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); 1. If you are connecting to Xbox Live by using a modem that is connected directly into your broadband socket, your IP address settings are obtained from your ISP. Set your IP address in Network Settings to Automatic. 2. If you use a static IP address that you obtained from your ISP, you must manually enter this address in the Dashboard. Contact your ISP for their static IP address if you do not know it. If the IP is not static, continue with the rest of the troubleshooting. 3. Power cycle the modem. 4. If your ISP requires PPPoE settings, verify that you have entered them correctly. 5. If your ISP does not use PPPoE authentication, do not use these fields in the Dashboard. Shared connection with a modem and a router loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); 1. Power cycle both the modem and the router. 2. Try connecting the Xbox 360 console to Xbox Live by using the modem only. This eliminates any configuration problems on the router. • If this setup works without the router, there is a configuration issue with the router. See the router's documentation or contact the technical support group. 3. Verify that your router's DHCP service has been enabled. See the router's documentation or contact the technical support group. 4. The IP address that you entered in the Network Settings area of the Xbox Dashboard may be incorrect. Set your IP settings to Automatic. 5. If your ISP requires PPPoE settings, try to connect with only the modem after you enter the PPPoE settings in Network Settings. • If you can connect, see your router documentation to configure the PPPoE settings correctly on the router. 6. If you are receiving an IP conflict error in the More Info section, turn off all the devices on the network. Try to connect with only the modem and Xbox 360 console connected. • If this works, there is a configuration issue on the routers DHCP server. See the router's documentation or contact the technical support group. Shared connection with a gateway device (combined modem and router) loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); 1. Make sure that the device is turned on. 2. Verify that there is activity with the blinking lights sequence WAN, ADSL, and Internet connected power. Note These names will vary from model to model. 3. Power cycle the gateway device. 4. The IP address that you entered in to the Network Settings area of the Xbox Dashboard may be incorrect. Set your IP settings to Automatic. 5. If you are receiving an IP conflict error in the More Info section, turn off all the other devices on the network. Try to connect with only the Xbox 360 console on the network. • If this test works, there is a configuration issue on the gateway DHCP server. See the router's documentation or contact the technical support group. Shared connection with Microsoft Windows Internet Connection Sharing loadTOCNode(3, 'whattotry'); 1. Verify that you can browse the Internet. If you cannot browse the Internet, Internet Connection Sharing is not configured correctly. 2. Power cycle the modem. If the modem does not have an on and off switch, unplug the modem from the power outlet. You cannot follow this step if you are using a USB modem. Instead, go to the next step. You must follow this step if you are switching the modem between the Xbox 360 console and a computer. 3. On the computer, click Start, click Run, type ncpa.cpl, and then click OK. 4. On the View menu, click Tiles. 5. If the connection is listed as Firewalled, the firewall may have to be configured. See your firewall documentation. 6. Enter manual settings in the Dashboard for IP address, subnet mask, DNS address and gateway: • IP Address : 192.168.0.2 • Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0 • Default Gateway : 192.168.0.1 • DNS server (Primary): 192.168.0.1 • DNS server (Secondary): 192.168.0.1If none of this works you might be banned. If you modded your xbox360 or for downloading game saves from the internet to boost you gamer score. You might be banned!
