I use refilled cartridges. Okay, the printer says ink low, but it does that all the time. I ignore it. However, yesterday it printed not a problem, today it gives me code 5. Does anyone have a real solution or should I throw the printer away?
I changed my cartrige but it is showing the error E5
Hello
E05 (Cartridge Problem)
after unplug the cartridge up down the cartridge now you can see the flat cable IC that is dirty, please clean it with cotton and alcohol then waits 10 minutes to dry also clean the spring in the carriage cartridge with alcohol and cotton then waits 10 minutes. Don't forget the printer is off until drying.

Worldwide Electronic Hardware Solution
E5 = (Can not recognize the cartridge)
It is possible that the cartridge (FINE Cartridge) is not installed or is not compatible with this device.
For details on how to solve the problem, see "<CHECK INK> (CHECK INK) U051 / U052 / U053 / U059" (MP210 series) or "E, 4 / E, 5" (Can not recognize the cartridge (FINE Cartridge ) (MP210 series)
checks that have been made properly, you have to push the cartridge down and then push up until you hear a break
You could try to reset the printer/scanner as I described in reply to another query re model MP210, and hope it works for your model too.
Press and hold the maintenance (picture of spanner and screw driver) button and the reset button (Inverted red triangle) together for five seconds or more. The flashing error code 1 and 6 will then stop flashing and replaced by a print copy no 1. The printer/scanner is reset.
E5 is cartridge error code.
You should replace with genuine Canon cartridges.
You should use PG40 / PG50 black ink cartridge.
You should use CL41 / CL51 color ink cartridge.
No sir, you don need to throw that unit away.
As I have answered before, Error 5 is the cartridges problem. Either refilled cartridges detected or faulty cartridges detected.
To solve out your intermittent problem, you are advised to replace with genuine cartridges.
Hope my answer can assist you.
Thank you.

Hi friend, I appreciate your post!
I understand that your Electrolux refrigerator is showing an "E5" error code and not cooling. "E5" typically stands for Showroom mode, you can press and hold the "Up" and "Down" keys simultaneously and that should restart your refrigerator back to normal operation. Could you reply back if that corrected the issue? Thank you. -Matt
