Loading paper tape

Well, I just had a long and vigerous fight withmy new HR-8TM. I came here and read all the before mentioned solutions. Then the idear struck me. Instead of cutting the paper even all the way across the roll, I cut it slanted on the sides and straight across the middle " __ " and guess what it passed the roller feed through.

It worked for me, maybe it will work for you.

When you first get the calculator there is a black piece of plastic in the very back of the calculator printer with a sliver piece of metal under neath it. push the paper in between the black piece of plastic and the piece of metal and keep pushing feed. at first when i tried this it wouldn't work, but you have to push the paper hard without ruining the piece of paper

Well i would say to try going to various support websites for this make and model of device, and certainly customer support at casio might be a good place to start. If the device is somewhat obsolete now and you are not getting any joy with the guys at casio, then i reckon its going to have be a nice search on google, and under the search term i reckon it will have to be instruction manual, followed by your device/ make/ model number of product you have. This is what i would recommend as the silly little pictues that come in the instruction manual (no bigger than a credit card) often dont help at all, and sometimes can make the situation worse. thats why I avoid the paper manual and go electronic.

If push comes to shove and you really do get stuck on this (more stuck han a wee little piggy in deep mud) then you can try scanning the manual into a computer scanner, enlarging the image and go from there. Its a bit extreme, but i find it works, and not many people think of it, but trust me, image enhancement is the way to go with postage stamp size instruction manuals.

Of what I know about that type of device, there is usually a slide clip that is moved in order for the new/ replacement tape or paper roll to be fitted, and this then locks in place, and it may be worth knowing that the paper feeds under and over an ink roller that is located near the replaceable/ refillable cartridge. The paper roll may attach to the rear of the device by means of a spring loaded bolt that you pull open to change the paper roll, and should the device block up, then either press the feed button, or gently pull the paper through the top opening if you can see it, or from the back if you cannot get to it from the top.
