Setting up windows mail

I am trying to set up windows mail with yahoo mail and need to know the e-mail server type (POP3, IMAP, or IMAP).Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server. outgoing e-mail server (SMPT) name. and if the outgoing server requires authentication. I have a free yahoo personal e-mail account

Trying to read email using outlook

Hello there!

You may do the following instructions:

Install YPOPs! and make sure it is running.
* Select Tools ' Account Settings... from the menu in Outlook
* Go to the E-mail tab
* Click New
* Make sure Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP is selected.
* Click Next >
* Type your name (what you want to appear in the From: line of messages you send) under Your Name
* Enter your full Yahoo! Mail address (e.g. "[email protected]") under E-mail Address
* Make sure Manually configure server settings or additional server types is checked
* Click Next >
* Make sure Internet E-mail is selected.
* Click Next >
* Make sure POP3 is selected under Account Type
* Type "127.0.0.1" under both Incoming mail server: and Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
* Type your Yahoo! ID under User Name
- The Yahoo! ID is also the first part of your Yahoo! Mail address, i.e. everything before "@yahoo.com". If your Yahoo! Mail address is "[email protected]", the ID is "example".
* Enter your Yahoo! Mail password under Password:.
* Click More Settings ....
* Go to the Outgoing Server tab.
* Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked.
- Leave Use same settings as my incoming mail server selected.
* Click OK.
* Now click Next >.
* Click Finish.

To access a free Yahoo! Mail account with Outlook Express using the YPOPs! desktop utility:

* Open Outlook Express.
* Select Tools ' Accounts... from the menu in Outlook Express.
* Click Add and select Mail....
* Type your name.
* Click Next >.
* Enter your Yahoo! Mail address ("[email protected]", for example).
* Click Next > again.
* Make sure POP3 is selected under My incoming mail server is a ___ server..
* Enter "localhost" under Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:.
o If "localhost" does not work, try "127.0.0.1" instead.
* Type "localhost" under Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: as well.
o If "localhost" does not work, again try "127.0.0.1" instead.
* Click Next >.
* Type your Yahoo! Mail user name under Account name:.
o The user name is your Yahoo! Mail address sans "@yahoo.com". In this example, the user name is "hmmzl34".
* Enter your Yahoo! Mail password under Password:.
* Click Next >.
* Click Finish.
* Highlight localhost in the Internet Accounts window.
* Click Properties.
* Type "Yahoo! Mail" under Mail Account.

Useful YPOPs! Options

I recommend you also double-click the YPOPs! system tray icon to change a number of useful settings.

You can make YPOPs! ignore messages in the Bulk Mail folder of your Yahoo! Mail account, for example, tell it not to mark downloaded messages as read, fetch sent mail or have YPOPs! put a copy of outgoing mail in your Yahoo! Mail Sent Items folder.

I am trying to add an E-Mail account to my wifes yahoo account and it keeps asking for info on ISP. I need assistance as I do not know where to find incoming and outgoing codes.

ISP is your Internet Service provider.

You will need to use the SMTP and POP (or IMAP) server for your Internet company (Eg. If you have Verizon Internet, look for Verizon server, if you have Comcast, locate Comcast)

SMTP is outgoing mail. POP or IMAP is incoming mail. Use the lists below to locate your provider's server.

Please follow the settings below:

* Click on Tools> Account Settings.
* Under the Account Settings window, click on the Email Tab, click New.
* Select Microsoft Exchange, POP, IMAP, or HTTP > click Next.
* Under the Auto Account Setup, place a check in the box called Manually Configure

Server settings or additional types, click Next.
* Select Internet Email, click Next.

Next, fill out the following information:

* User Information
Your Name: Your Name (e.g., Joe Black)
Email Address: username@email (e.g., [email protected])

* Server Information
Account Type: POP3 or IMAP
Incoming Mail Server: pop3.yahoo.com or imap.yahoo.com

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.yahoo.com

* Logon Information
User Name: username@ (e.g., [email protected] - This must be your full email

address)
Password: password
Check the box remember password if you would like the system to remember your

password. Please note: requiring your password to be entered each time you open

Outlook will ensure your email is better protected and will prevent others from

Click on the More Settings button.

Enter port number: 25, 2525 or 465
Use the following type of encrypted connection: Auto

* (For POP3accounts only) On Advanced tab, under Delivery, adjust the settings to

meet your requirements.

Click OK. Finally click Next, and then click Finish.

How do I set yahoo email on my moblie phone that runs microssoft outlook system

Still Yahoo is not offered the outlook service for free user. Yahoo offer the outlook mail services only for premium/plus user.You will need to subscribe Yahoo! mail plus in order to use it with outlook.

If you having a plus/premium account just set up your account in outlook with below info.

Provide your Yahoo Plus user ID and password as usual in the required field.
Select POP3 as Incoming Mail Server Type and in the box Incoming mail(POP3 or IMAP) server type pop.mail.yahoo.com and in the field Outgoing email(SMTP) server type smtp.mail.yahoo.com

  • Port - 993

  • Server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com

  • Requires SSL - Yes
  • Requires authentication - Yes

Sitting up e-mail account

Well, if you are using Yahoo, you need to buy yahoo plus to get the settings found and working.

POP3 or IMAP is not free. Gmail give it for free. If you have a gmail, goto settings on top right corner and goto forwarding tab. Here you have to activate imap or pop3 and get settings from bottom.
