Try turning down the ice cube size.
Hello,
Ice cubes may stick together if the ice-making cycle is too long. Stop
the ice maker. Restart it when the ice that is stuck together melts.
Select the 'small ice size' option when restarting.
A low water temperature in the inner tank may cause the ice cubes to
stick together. Change the water in the reservoir, adding water that is
45 to 90 degrees F.
Ice that is left in the appliance for too long may cause the cubes to
stick together. Transfer freshly made ice to another container and store
in a freezer. This will also prevent the ice cubes in the ice maker
from melting.
Take care.
This is usually cased by air leaking from the freezers door seal. Apply a coating of butter overnight and check the ice in the morning. butter will seal the door around the freezers door seal and will not freezed the seal to the door. if the cubes are loose and not frozen together the door seal needs to be replaced. if the cubes are the same as before the thermostat may be bad instead. a dollar store sell thermometers that will determine the temperature compared to the setting of the freezer
Hi, most refrigerator come with ice maker inside the freezer nowadays. This is how to prevent ice cubes from sticking together inside the ice bucket.
Pay attention to your ice maker, making sure the ice cubes are nice and loose, and not sticking together like a big ice ball inside the ice bucket. Do this often once a day, every other day or a least once a week.
Once a day, get a cooking spoon, open up the freezer, dip the spoon inside the ice bucket inside your freezer and loosen the ice cubes from sticking together by mixing up the ice cubes.Stir up the ice as you will stir up food on the stove, this will prevent the cubes from sticking together.
Close the freezer; get a cup to try out the ice after you had mixed it up, making sure it's working the correct way. Open up the freezer again and put the ice back into the ice bucket again.
If you don't remember to this chore often, give it to one of your children to do it...
Take care
Hello,
there are two things (factors) you will have to put in to consideration
the time factor (duration)and
the container (bucket) you put in our water
on the time (duration) you will have to take a close look on the duration in which the ice maker take to frieze up to determine the if the problem is from the over frieze of the ice maker
i mean if it take little time to frieze up and you have (been) allowing it for extra time then it will be ever difficult to remove from the container (BUCKET)
But if the bucket you make use of is not in proper shape it also a problem i mean either round or flat in shape bucket it very ok for your ice maker but if the bucket is in horizontal or vertical thewre will be a problem of removing the ice from it
than you and thanks for using fixya.

The cubes just don't stick together - they are melted together at the bottom and will not dispense through the chute - despite the fact that the temp is fine and it is a 10 yr old refrigerator and never has done this before. Thanks.
it used to work fine - nothing has changed re: time/bucket. Last answer did not apply/make sense. Thanks
This is the same as thefirst response... The problem is that at the bottom of the square bucket there is now almost a uniform chunk of ice molded to the bottom of the bucket - as if the ice melted and froze again... this locks up the auger device that propels the ice down the back and into the chute. It never has done this. It would seem that water is poured over the ice in the bucket and freezes amoungst the preformed cubes - and a spoon would never cure this - it is solid after only a day....
Seal is fine and temp was already checked
