Looking at he face of the impeller turn counter clockwise, with a large set of CHANNELLOCK 20" Pliers Channel Lock Model 480 cost about $70.00 there is a notch on the back of the motor shaft for ether a 1/2 or 7/16 open end wrench to fit in to hold the rotor from turning. warning ! these pumps are hard to find parts for so you want to have the right tool so you don't break anything. your best bet is to bring it to your local pool pump motor repair guy and have him do it, if its just the seal you are trying to replace it should be a $20 job
if'n i was any help vote ... thanks ..jay .. and prime the pump after a repair !

Jacuzzi pool pump delivers no water

wow if it got that cold there id be winterizing with food grade antifreeze not just drainig it down, you could miss pockets of water here and there and produce a crack in housing someplace , as for trouble shooting a no flow situation try the ole standby method of methodical subsitution it's worked for 100 years , keep removing parts (start at suction line in pool) temporray out of system till flow starts then you know last part sub'd out was it!!!

Unable to screw off top to pump. Which way is off and does anyone have any tips on getting the top unstuck?

If you mean the top of the inlet basket, it turns counter clockwise. Make sure that the pump body can't move, grab the large knurled ring and turn it.
If it needs persuading, tap carefully with a hammer and a block of wood on the inner sides of the grooves in the ring. The wood should be about 4 inches long and about 1/2 inch in diameter or so.

HOW TO WINTERIZE AQUAMATE ABOVE GROUND SWIMMING POOL PUMP

Open the plugs on the bottom front of the pump pot and on the pump housing itself. These two plugs will do the pump and just the pump. You should have simmilar plugs on the filter, heater, chlorinator and any other equiptment on the system.

I've got no water coming thru the side jets in my pool, even though water is pouring through the jacuzzi jets. The jacuzzi is all part of the pool.

This is an ether or situation. Most systems now are set up with three way valves and if you turn the jets on you will shut the pool returns down. If you turn the pool back on you will shut the spa jets off.

Sir, Is there a drain plug at the base of the pump? I have a strong leak around where the "broken" drain plug is permitting water to leak around the threads in the housing--is this possible? Please...

Not too familiar with that exact pump, but pretty much all pumps have a drain plug on the front or side of the pot, and also in the impeller housing. these allow pumps to be drained for winter storage to prevent freezing. you should be able to get a replacement from the local pool supply store. there should also be an o-ring that actually allows the plug to seal. sometimes you can replaces this sometimes it's just easier to replace the whole plug

Jacuzzi at higher elevation to swimming pool, water falls off jacuzzi when pool filter running (is designed to do this!!). currently air bubbles coming from one of the jets when pool and jacuzzi turned...

you probably have a check valve (back flow preventer) on the line that supplies water to the spa when the pool is filtering as normal. Your check valve may have some debris in it or the seal inside may have failed allowing the water to drain into the pool when the system is off. You should see a valve on the return line that splits off from the pool return line on your system. There are several different check valves on the market, some have a clear lid that you can inspect without taking it apart. Some of them cannot be taken apart. Your challenge will be to find the check valve, then try to check to see it debris may be holding it partly open or it the rubber seal inside is damaged or missing. I hope this helps.

Back pressure at inlet when pump is turned off

There is a check valve in the output side -- sounds like this valve is jammed, clooged or broken. If the valve is not visible as a separate fitting, it's in the line, probably in an elbow.
