SOURCE: all 4 igniters keep clicking, when one is on

All of the igniters are connected to one source. A series of small switches mount on each stem of each burner. Any of them can fire up the spark box and it in turn it fires off all the ignitors. If a boil over spills liquid into one or more of them switches the resulting continuity causes the clicking. Removing one wire at a time from each switch till the clicking stops is the solution.

Hi abbilou_78,

I believe your ignition switches have come in to contact with either water or moisture.

Please read my below Tip on how to fix the problem:

If it does not solve your problem, I'd suggest replacing the ignition switches.

My ge monogram stove top burner( model zgu366h)continues to ignite. even after the flame is lit

If you are saying the clicking continues you must move the burner knob past the LITE position.
If it continues clicking with the knob past the LITE position the ignitor switch behind the knob is bad.

Jen-Air Gas range Igniter keeps clicking but not starting fire

01/26/09 My wife decided to give our Jenn-Air a good cleaning. With lot's of soapy warm water she pulled the knobs off and washed under each of them not realizing excess water was now running down the inside of each control knob shaft. The igniter immediately began clicking away as it was being shorted by the conductance of the water now inside of the switch. I had to remove the cover (2-screws) to access the control switches but that is all I needed to do do in order to have clear access. Using her hair dryer it took about 5 minutes of warm air blowing down each of the shafts until the water evaporated and the clicking stopped. Wahla. The old Jenn-Air is back to working order again.

Clicking noise on cooktop even when all burners ignite

I have a viking gas cooktop. The ignitor on one of my front burners wouldn't stop clicking even after the flame ignited. I swapped that ignitor with the ignitor from a back burner, expecting that the problem was with the ignitor and that the back burner would start to click incessantly, but at least I'd have my favorite front burner for use. Instead, the front burner was then only clicking 50% of the time and the back burner was fine, suggesting the problem was related to the burner not the ignitor. I pulled the front ignitor a bit away from the burner and now it is working normally. Hope this helps.
