I'm assuming your saw is a model 351.228040 or a 351.228020. Manual is here.
See page 18, Figure 7 for the Blade drive exploded diagram.
Sears doesn't appear to have a part number for the fan and fan guard.

It looks like you can replace the entire motor and key for $217.55 (as of 6/13/2010) which isn't too bad for a 3 HP motor. Part number is 15094.00 and clicking it will link you to their parts site.

Manual for craftsman 10 inch table saw model 818320

I think it is great for you to be needing the manual however most of their saws start with something like 315.1710 look for a number with a decimal then look for the manual. seems to me that the model number you have here is the motor model number. Hope this helps.

New leeson 3 hp motor for my tablesaw has very little torque, and is less powerful than my old 1hp craftsman motor. What could the problem be?

If the motor is a 115/230 volt motor and is running on 115 volts but the wiring is configured for 230 volt operation, the motor will be weak.

My Powermatic 66 tablesaw has a 3 phase 230 Vac motor on it but I cannot tell if it is a 3 hp or 5 hp. All the tags are gone from the motor. Is there any way to tell from the serial number? 8666-1008.

There will be a tag on the motor that will give the specs. Sometimes they are hard to see from the underside and its not easy to remove the top see them. Try lowering the motor (with blade removed) all the way and use a digital camera to reach up into the cabinet and photoqraph the top of the motor. I had to take several since your shooting blind to get a picture of mine.

How do I get my cool operator fan apart to clean the darned thing

hi! there,
well! no brand and model, anyway the guard fan has a quick clip lockaround the fan blade,be sure to unplug your electric fan before doing this, unlock clip lock then the fan has a quick handy lock knob at the center of the fan observed loosening knob there is direction arrow in loosening this if i'm wrong going counter clockwise,or take the direction indicated marked on top of knob.
pull out the blade and have it clean if this is a plastic or aluminum clean it with water and spounge/cleanser,avoid to distorsion on fan blade if happen this will wiggle when run again be carefull and on the second guard fan still connected to your electric fan, there is plastic lock nut release and pull out the 2nd fan guard, try to clean this with water and cleanser, the motor assembly with control and stand just wipe it out ,don't try to get wet specially the motor, let all dried up before reassemble.reverse the process to eassembly

I have a Craftsman table saw with a burned out motor. The motor model number is RM871. Where can I find one for less that the $130.00 that Sears wants for the motor. That's the price of the saw.

SOUNDS LIKE THE PROBLEM I HAD, BUT WAS JUST A SEIZED-UP BEARING. I WENT TO LOCAL ELECTRIC MOTOR REPAIR ($15.74) PARTS AND LABOR, THEY REPLACED THE BEARING, THERE ARE 2 BEARINGS ON IT, COST IS THE SAME FOR EACH. THE BEARING IS PRESSED ON, SO REPLACEABLE. HOPE THIS HELPED
