How do I install a DVD driver on my Lenovo laptop?

it seems to be missing drivers or corrupt driver, or faulty external DVD, do try plug usb cable in different ports

remove all the drivers and install it once again. do it if and only if you have drivers cd or dvd to install it again

First of all, try to put other empty disc(or other disc, which contains data) in your dvd rw. See if it detects your CD. If it detects that means the problem is with your empty disc. If the computer an't detect your disc, go to Control Panel and see if any device has yellow mark. Make sure that drivers for your devices of your computer are installed correctly. If some device has yellow mark, that means you need to install drivers for this device.
If the problem continues, go to http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us

if you dvd writer is not working and you cant install your camera driver from cd then its probably something wrong with the slot where you insert cds. Try seeing if there is an online version of the camera version and if that dont work, then you should have the store that sold it to you, to look at it.

may be the problem with dvd drive. its not reading dvd means it lence has some problem.

well it's possible that your cd-rom actually is just permanently malfunctioning, i've seen it numerous times (i repair pc's and laptops for a living) the driver should automatically load using windows. the only driver i can find for the optical drive is for dos and people using win 3.1

... and no drivers came with the drive either? Do you have the restore CD/DVD provided by Lenovo? I'm guessing this was a pre-installed OS and all files came on the HDD. When you installed Windows 7, you lost the path to the std Lenovo drivers... or wiped/formatted the HDD and lost everything? Can you pull the DVD drive out of the bay and see who makes it? Lenovo does NOT make DVD ;-) I'll bet it is a std Yeasu, Phillips or Samsung/Sony and with the model# and your OS info you will be able to get generic drivers for it
