The fan has a setting for high speed, low, and off. Fan only running at low speed. This indicates problem towards. 1) the fan motor. 2) The loose fan wiring. 3) The fan switch. IN the unit there is a motor for fan.If the motor gets weak or short. The fan will run but only at low speed.Because at high speed the motor will require more power to run.In this case motor needs to be checked and replaced. The other possibility is the fan wiring. There are two wires going from fan to motor and two going from motor to power board. If any of this wire is got loose or getting short then this will stop the fan to run in high speed. In this case the wires needs to be checked and reconnected properly. In the unit there is a switch internally. When you select the fan to high speed mode the switch goes up. when you select the fan to low speed mode the switch turns down. But if the switch is faulty or got worn out. Then it will not move properly up/down.In this case switch needs to be replaced.IN some brand models the High speed and low speed are directly controlled from front control panel. There is no switch in that models. In that case the control panel needs to be checked and replaced. Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

I got a Kenmore microwave hood combination model number 721.80032 is it a hood fan to and how do i just turn on the hood fan

The model number 721.80032 is a partial model number; it indicates the build series. I found the Kenmore microwave, 721.80032700. The final 3 digits indicate the panel color and similar details.

Assuming the microwave was installed properly, it should work as a hood fan. Press the touch pad with the fan icon (underneath it says Hi/Low/Off) to get the desired fan speed. The icon is on the lower left of the control panel; it's below the Cook Time button and to the left of the Light button.

The manual for the 721.80032700 is available here: https://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/72180032700-kenmore-parts-manual?manualIndex=0 . The direct link to the Owner's Manual is https://c.searspartsdirect.com/mmh/pd_download/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0710653.pdf . See pages 9 and 14 for using the exhaust fan.

I hope this helps.

What does F44 error code on Kenmore Elite model 790.4890 mean?

You may be missing a digit in the model number. I believe that this microwave was built by Electrolux for the Kenmore line. The F44 error indicates that the external cooling fan for the microwave is spinning too fast. This can be caused by a blockage. Check if there is anything blocking the airflow. Make sure that the voltage coming into the microwave is correct. If your voltage is too high, then the fan will spin faster.

The fan is part 108 on this diagram: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/model-part/79048903000/0583/0125400/r1009032/00003.html . It's at the back of the deflector at the top of the microwave. This is the diagram for the 790.48903000 .

If there is nothing wrong with the fan (spinning normally), then the problem is between the fan speed sensor and the control board. This should be fixed by a professional.

I hope this helps.

Whirlpool microwave fan not working

I would unplug the oven for 2 minutes to do a hard reset and try it again, just in cause there was a glitch.

Without knowing your full model number from the tag on the oven, I would wonder if it has a separate internal cooling fan from the hood vent exhaust fan. It could be an unrelated issue.

For more free DIY and other help & advice, feel free to contact me with your full model number and FCC ID number from the tag on your oven.

Where is the fuse in my Kenmore Over the stove Microwave oven

The fuse is located under the keypad in towards the high voltage capacitor "silver rectangular in shape" before you take it apart "unplug and discharge capacitor" there are dangerous high voltages present, the fuse is a ceramic type and must be replaced with the identical size and rating. Now if the fuse blows again it is more than likely one of the door switches is defective.

My cooling fan will not engage when I turn on the microwave. I am manually turning on the fan at High to make sure the temperature doesn't overheat the appliance. Sometimes after I'm done cooking if I...

There are typically 2 fans in these units. The fan that cools the magnetron and then the vent fan that intakes from the top of your stove then vents the air out or away from the unit. Are the lights that shine on the top of the stove working?? Sometimes if a bulb blows violently it can blow a trace off of the back of the main circuit board and that trace may also supply power to the fan

Kenmore microwave shuts off after several seconds

Hopefully the hood / vent fan was always on when boiling on the stove top.

Otherwise moisture can get into and damage the keypad or control circuit board.

That may be the problem.

If this is a convection model, it may have a bad thermistor (not to be confused with a thermostat).

The full model has three more digits, in case you need more help and want to post that.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

At times some butons don't work

You may have a bad keypad, which in many cases can be replaced.

A bad keypad may be worn out due to age, damaged, or it may have gotten wet or otherwise contaminated.

Moisture and contamination can be caused by not using the fan when boiling on the stove top (for over the range models), direct spraying of cleaners, by storing the microwave in an unheated garage or shed, or infestation.

I warn my customers to never spray cleaner directly onto the microwave keypad, since the liquid can get inside and "lock up" or even ruin the keypad or controller.

Kenmore microhood

"Microhood" seems to be a slang term for the "microwave hood" (hood fan or exhaust fan) which is normally part of an over-the-range microwave oven or range. But these should be available separately, as I seem to recall. I would contact home centers such as Lowe's, Home Depot (if they still exist), etc., or a local appliance store.
