Same problem as "womanbythewa" How did she fix it? My Kenmore Elite Smart Washer QP4 He3t after I turn on a wash cycle stops and the locked red light stays on with F20, it won't unlock. Even if I press stop two times. When I unplug it and plug back in the F20 and locked is still happening

I own a 18-year-old Kenmore front-load washer so I'm not sure this will apply, but here goes... My washer requires me to press and HOLD the start button for a few seconds before it will start. At that point the door will lock and the washer goes through its startup phase. I think that is a "safety feature' to keep from accidentally bumping the button and starting the washer. door lock error...door lock mechanism broken,,,replace door switch,,,if your lock out remove toe panel and reach up and pull tab,,always unplug first...good luck
We experienced the same thing. I was able to restart and locate the noise to the water pump. After disassembling the water pump found the impeller shaft sliding out. For some reason this shaft will not stay in place. Had to order a complete pump assembly as the electric motor is not available.
the F code is a puwer outige. This is how to fix
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Select
DRAIN & SPIN if there is excessive water in the washer.
Re-select cycle and press START. If the problem remains, call
for service.
This is what an HF code is.
"FH" (Water Inlet Problem--no water or insufficient water
supply)
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug
washer or disconnect power.
Check the following:
Are water faucets completely turned on?
Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer clogged?
Are water inlet hoses kinked?
Are water inlet hoses frozen?
Plug in washer or reconnect power. Re-select cycle and press
START. If the problem remains, call for service.
sounds as if you have a drain issue, most common cause of fault is theres something stuck in the pump housing. remove the lower acess panel(3 screws along the bottom of the forn of unit) youll gain acess to the pump housing, remove the large cover to the "button trap" by uncscrewimg the cover, it will be righthin front of you in the center of machine when cover removed, im sure youll find your blockage within there
Well there is one of two control boards that is malfunctioning, most common is the Machine (or Main) control board, there is also a display pc board in the control panel, but i have had few problems with that control. Unfortunately the main board is $300.
