Use a VCR as a A/B switch. Run Cable signal into VCR. Run coax cable out of VCR into television. Connect DVD to VCR (line in) using RCA cables. To use DVD, set VCR channel to L1 or L2 or AUX, depending on VCR type. Set VCR to channel 3 or 4 to watch television. VCR must be powered up to watch DVD.

My 26" 1997 Sharp T.V. model #25H-M60 turns off by itself and won't turn back part of the time.

First thing if you are able is to unplug set and remove rear cover (lay set face down on a padded surface).

entire main board should be able to be seen or released so it slides out--take a very careful look at flyback and rest of board for any cracked or bad solder connections.

One bad connection (age) can cause this.

I have a problem conecting my sharp 25h-M60 with my DVD plyer.I have found solution on Fixya. They said I have to use VCR. My question is: What does VCR mean?

If your TV does not have AV inputs (RCA jacks for video and audio), you can't plug the DVD player directly in to the set. One solution is to connect the DVD player to a video cassette recorder (VCR) using the "line in" jacks on the VCR, then using the channel 3 or 4 output from the VCR to the TV. This solution may not work with discs that have copy protection, though, and will give you an unwatchable picture.

For sets with no AV input, you need an RF converter. This is a device that takes the video and audio signals from a DVD player or other device and makes a channel 3 or 4 TV signal to the TV's antenna connector. Converters are available at most retailers where you can buy televisions, as well as online.

How do I connect to Sharp HDTV and Comcast cable

Your dvd recorder only has rca, red white yellow inputs it wont allow you to record in HD, although you can play your comcast box any hd, regular digital through and record. Hook up the comcast box if HD through preferably HDMI if not get one from comcast. The HD box is the only box that allow HDMI, component and regular RCA and some RF out. This way you can play HD to your set but also record through RCA or RF again will not allow for HD record unless its TiVo. Hope this helps

Hooking a dvd and vcr to a cable box and tv

You will have to use an audio/video cable for connecting the player to the tv. This cable consists of three wires, generally a white, a red and yellow. Yellow is for video and the other two are for audio. You will find corresponding colored sockets both behind the tv and the player, find out which is the input at the tv and output at the player. Good luck
