I have a hotspot HOTSPRING spa pool.circa 2000 not heating

I have a hotspot HOTSPRING spa pool.circa 2000 .Since replacing the pump I dont have heating .The temp can be locked in on the digital dial but disappears after 60sec and no heating . I had to unclip the blue green brown leads to the heater links in the terminal box,but may have them on the wrong terminals although I did note where they went but not on what choice of two presented- bit of a bugger as I dont want to go experimenting and blow things up .
Is it OK to swap the terminals around as long as I stay in the area I pulled them off ? I changed the black lead onto the terminal next to it and the digital readout stopped flashing.
I dont have the electrical diagram to go by
regards Gerald

How do I bleed the pump? It's running but not circulating water after partially draining the hot water heater.

Domestic Central Heating, Dodge Caravan, well pump or a Pool Heater, or something else.

All questions need 'make model (what it is)' as first 3 words.

With the exception of the Dodge Caravan, pumps have a small bleed screw.

Google

make model bleed pump

or if it is an above ground well pump

make model prime pump

This is heavily weighted towards vehicles, but you will get the ideal of the power of Google!

The length of a pool is 10 ft, the width is 10 ft, the volume is 2,700 cubic ft. we are trying to find out the height.

V = L x W X H
2700 = 10 x 10 x X
2700 = 100 x X
x = 2700/100
x = 27

You should be able to do that in your head.

Pool pump breaker tripping

1) Not likely the timer is problem, unless there was fire or overheating in timer box. Use nose and eyes to inspect for signs of high heat.

2) Eliminate timer as suspect:
Move wires on timer to test if timer relays have gone bad.
Move terminal 4 to terminal 3
Move terminal 2 to terminal 1
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html#T104

3) Check watt rating of Hayward pump, and voltage.
1Hp motor at 240Volt draws 8 amp, and can draw 6 to 8 times that amount when starting. Up to 100 feet, should be at least 12 gauge wire and double-pole 20 amp breaker. Over 100 feet, 10 gauge wire and 30 amp double-pole breaker is best.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Color-codewire.html#motor

4) Intermatic T104 240V timer is rated 40 amps
Can safely handle 1 Hp motor without nearing heat-rating capacity of timer

5) Make sure the motor is wired correctly for 240Volts.
If motor is wired for 120, and 240 is applied, then tripped breaker can result.

I have a Rheem 101 electric series circa 1997 model 101160. Water is hot in the mornings and is cold in the afternoons. This occurs even if we dont use hot water in the mornings. Have just replaced...

Maybe more than 1 problem: Suspects are: crossover, sediment or assorted gunk is built up in bottom of tank, or a loose wire or bad circuit breaker, or loose connection somewhere at water heater.
There is no off-peak setting unless you wire up the water heater differently or install a timer.

1) When water is cold, open TP valve at hot water heater to see if tank has hot water.
If tank has hot water, but it does not arrive at faucet, then suspect is crossover:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Crossover.html

2) To test if circuit breaker is problem, move wires to different circuit breaker with same amp rating:
http://waterheatertimer.org/B220C.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-replace-circuit-breaker.html

3) Turn off power, open connection at top of heater and check that wire nuts are tight
Check all wire connections for signs of high heat and burning.

4) If bottom is filled with gunk, the lower part of heater can be slow to heat and will take so long that top part of heater will cool. Clean sediment out of tank.

Do you have power to the heater?If you do then I would look for a hi limit switch to reset.It might be the pump you have to reset.
