Can't get picture to fill entire screen on Emerson 32" LC320EM1

Universal remotes don't usually have the ability to change the aspect ratio on the TV, they are made for general functions only.

Check and replace its main digital board. It is faulty.

Most Emerson remote controls have a "FORMAT" button. Each button press cycles through TV Screen aspect ratio choices, such as Normal, Movie Expand, Wide, Zoom, etc. Pick one that fills your screen. You will probably have to change this setting again, depending on the signal source or channel selected.

The button cycles through the choices in a loop, so you can always get back to Normal.

Is that a flat Panel?If not you have a vertical output Problem.

The power board is shot,

If standby is on, the unit thinks that no signal is being sent to the unit, verify a valid source and try other inputs.....

the tv is shorting out. means its probably old and needs to be replaced. if its not very old its just got a faulty part. get ahold of manufacturer emerson technical service and they will tell you your options.

Are you connecting this to a cable television set top box? If so what type of box is it and make and model number? Also who is the provider?

try turning off the power saverv feature
software problem ?

I have the Emerson LC320EM1 - try a Sylvania code... Worked for me!
