Did you ever get a answer to this question? I have a hitachi 50vs810 with the same problem. I found the same sensor "tokin ohd3-90m."
I ohmed across mine and it shows open. I then held my lighter under it and it stayed open. I suspect this part is bad so I tried jumping it out. No change. Still have the same blinking temp light.
So... in the end I don't know if I tested it right or not either. Good luck and let me know if you learned anything that can help me out.

I looked at the specs for the tokin ohd3-90m thermal switch. It should be open until it is heated to 90 deg celcius. The -90m means it Makes at 90 degrees celcius. so just ohm across the leads ond it should be open at room temp.

I have no picture or sound when iturn t.v.on iunplugedand let set about 10 minutes and have same problem

Hi,

Most current designs of TVs would need a couple of hours unplugged before it would reset itself to default settings. There are some instances that overnight would be better.

If this proves to be not corrective, please post back with the brand and model of your TV.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up, details as requested or should you need additional information. It would also be of help if you can post any indicators such as blinking lights (LEDs) colors, their blinking sequence and anything else out of the ordinary.

Good luck and kind regards.

Sharp aquos TV lc-42d64u has blinking power light

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Mitsubishi WD-62526 turns on-n-off

I would bet the illumination lamp has reached the end of it's life (~$40 online). Should be easy to replace. Also possible the ventilation vents need cleaning, which could cause the lamp to overheat and turn off.

No picture. red led light still comes on, but cannot access the menu or watch tv.

Unplug TV from power source. Hit power button on the front of the TV. Let TV sit for 10 Minutes and then plug back into power. Attempt to repower on. If you cannot get the TV to start you will need a professional repair person,.

I have a TV sony KP-fx432 sometimes it works normal but the other times it doesnt and the led blinks 10 times there is sound but no picture. please HELP! :[

We had a similar problem with the same model a few weeks ago. With the help of a service manual, we just replaced IC8002(MCZ3001DB) on the D-board to solve the problem. The 10 blinks indicates an HV protection has occurred.I do hope this helps.

I have a Philips Plasma tv 42pf5321d/37 with sound but no picture

Thats the great sound of Exploding capacitors on either the power supply board. or another one in there. Now the set is in fault protection. It tried to warn you with the RED blinking LED that there was something amiss by shutting itself down. When you unplugged you reset the error and allowed it to do it again.
