but is the carriage moving,? if not disconnect and try to connect again, the embroidery hoop holder usually moves to check itself, if it still does the same thing the connection that goes onto the machine is not making a proper connection, I also had this problem, with a 2100 brother , I fixed it by using a crochet hook and just tightening the connection that connects to the machine on the embroidery unit, but tread very carefully it just takes a slight move. if this fails it will have to be adjusted cost is usually $100au
