Instant fuse blowing? Follow the circuit board traces from positive to negatve; you probably will come across a large diode that bridges + to -. This protects against reverse polarity hookups, and is designed to short out; protecting the amp by blowing fuses.Pull the diode and replace, or pull it and hook up power correctly; then any other probs can come to light.

02 Yukon keeps blowing a fuse even when the switch is unplugged on the 4x4

There is an actuator motor located on the transfer case. It selects range; hi neutral and lo and engages the front differential. There is a second clutch actuator motor on the front differential that engages the front wheel hubs.

You will need to disconnect both motors to eliminate electronics. It could also be you have an abraided wire to either the transfer case or the front differential. If unplugging both actuators doesnt stop fuse blow, you will need to test for signal or power to ground shorts.

Free (with ads) schematics are available using the "carmin std" app.

Richard Will spammer- 1999 Oldsmobile Bravada AWD smartrac 4.3 liter V6 and my ATC fuse keeps blowing it's not pulling up an engine code and I'm trying to figure out y it keeps blowing please help

Sorry but an ATC fuse is a blade style fuse. They are larger than ATM fuses and found in many later model vehicles. Please write back and specify which ATC fuse it is that keeps blowing. It should be related to the ECM, ignition system or fuel system. If there are any other details please include that information as well. Any recent work or repairs performed. Besides scanning for codes. Was there anything strange that you noticed? Anything that isn't powering up or functioning normal?

Why does the ATC fuse keep blowing

Fuses only blow when the current is above the limit. Tripping a 20 amp fuse is a serous current, probably caused by a shortage. Check if an animal has eaten on your cables, or perhaps a cable lost its isolation and is now connected to the plating. Use a ohm meter and try to follow the cable from the fuse to in the car, till toy see something.

My atc fuse would keep blowing I put a bigger fuse it didn't blow that but I herd a zap noise from my TCCM now my 4x4 won't work 1999 jimmy

What you have done? You Just damage the TCCM and that's why you will not manage to shift 4x4. Why this happened? Because you had shortage somewhere and you receive blown ATC fuse. You put a bigger fuse in capacity where the was stronger to blown and the fault moved to the tccm system which was not protected and blown.Ask for an expert to check and see whether the fault is easy to get fixed.

Blowing 30 amp engine control fuse.

You say it eventually allows you to put new fuse in, do you mean when it sits for a while, a new fuse won't blow, but if it blows and you immediately replace it, it blows again instantly?
