Wii fit plus scale is not accurate - Nintendo Wii Fit - Balance Board + Game Console

If the scale is moved, you must reset the scale back to zero in order to get an accurate reading.

This is a common problem and it is not specific to Wii Fit Plus, it is a TV setup issue.
Access your TV's menu screen and be sure that your TV screen is expecting input from "AV" or "Video". If you have "S-Video" selected, this is the cause of why your Wii is playing black and white.

Are you doing it on carpet? Mine does the same and I put the board on a hard suface and it's accurate.

I'm afraid the only way to play Wii fit is to use a balance board. That's why it wont let you past.

They are just two different versions of the Fit game. The actual Wii Fit device is the same. If you already have a Wii Fit, you can buy Wii Fit Plus as a stand-alone game without the device. The Plus has some newer exercises.

If you go into the normal game screen it will load into the full game. If you just use wii fit plaza it can be harder to get into it.

You have to make your character 3 years or younger.

You should probably put it on a board but if that doesn't work, you could try putting something weighing 12 pounds on the board or in your pockets or whatever.

I would suggest that you ensure that the board is calibrated properly and that you don't step on it until directed to do so. I'm sure you're already doing this, because it won't let you go on without doing so.

The other solution I would offer is to change the batteries in the unit, and ensure that you are setting the Balance Board on a smooth, sturdy, and flat surface. If you are on shag carpet, it will not function properly. If you have average carpet, try using the little adapters that attach to the feet.

Remember that for the purposes of this program, the exact weight isn't what is most important, but relative weight. Any time you are tracking weight loss, be sure to mark your progress using the same scale. If you chart the Wii vs traditional scales, you should notice that the decrease is the same, regardless of what your starting point may happen to be.

The examiner (or the scales) then uses a formula to calculate body fat percentage based on body density. These formulas just predict your body fat. Unfortunately there is no one formula that accurately predicts body fat for the whole population. Differences in age, gender, ethnicity, body size, and fitness level all have a significant affect on the results. Well, whether body fat scales measure your "true" body fat percentage or not doesn't matter! As long as they can accurately monitor changes in your body composition over time, that's all you need.
