I get this error message in Create-a-card program in Forget me not. "FMNOT caused a general protection fault in module FMNOT.EXE @ 0006:C4E9". It asks to cancel or ignore. Any ideas on how to solve this would be greatly appreciated. I've done chkdsk, scanning for viruses, remove and re-install.

Just a thought: I would remove Quicktime and try the program again. If not prompted to install Quicktime, uninstall the program, install again with the Quicktime version they provide. That will possibly associate the program or its extensions with Quicktime. You can probably update Quicktime after that. Save any work to another folder before uninstall so you don't have to so it over, replace it after the reinstall.

Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. The problem that you have occurs because the program or application that you are trying to install is not compatible with windows vista. The game was released before the release of windows vista or even xp that's why it is not working. You can check the maker of the game and see if they release the patch for the windows vista version if not then there's no way you can play it on your system.
Thanks

I replaced my USB/Serial RS232 port adapter with a genuine RS232 serial port on the PC. THis solved the problem. Further reasearch on the net indicated that USB to RS232 - serial port converters do often have problems. I previously had not had a problem running on Windows XP and this is what alerted me to the possibility of the USB/RS232 port adapter as a possible reason for the "new" problem.

Software problem

I had the same issue when I tried to print. I had to set my default printer to an older printer. Everything else worked fine. If you get this error when printing hopefully you can reset your default printer. I don't think the software has updated printer drivers for some of the newer printers.
